Super happy fun times, it works!

I hope the lag wasn't bad.

I managed to fix it by running it on my linux lappy. It's not an ideal solution as I'd like to run the server 24/7.

I'll have to see if I have the parts to construct a server out of spare parts that I can keep running. Or I could just get a new network adapter for my rig.

Either way, sounds like more super happy fun times ahead.

Mt. Mong is an in-joke between me and my friend who I started the server with. I won't go into specifics but it's a stoner joke that refers to a trip we took to Glasgow together.

For a while now I've been contemplating buying a web hosting package to play around with. If there's interest enough I'll look into the possibility of setting up a minecraft server on a proper dedicated host with lots of bandwidth.

Technical question: I've never really delved into online hosting before so I'm not entirely sure what limitations I'd face in setting up such a server. I know they're more than happy to let you dump files onto their server, but do they allow you to run applications on the server space you're paying for?

Some companies actually let you get gaming servers... I don't know if any would be set up properly forminecraft yet.

Well, I'm convinced. I'll talk to my brother who works as a web designer and get his advice about how best to do this.

Probably won't be able to make anything happen before uni finishes for Christmas though. I have so much work I should be doing...

Server is back up. Trying something new.

Managed to have Toyz connect for a while without crashing my internets so it looks like I've fixed that problem. Seems like Toyz crashed though so I'll need to figure out what this new problem is.

I think my computer might just be awful. Cause I've had the problem of minecraft freezing then crashing on my own in singleplayer. Although at one point it said something like "Stream lost" or...I dunno.

Maybe I'll try a little later on my PC, rather than the laptop.
