Clearly the villager parent there didn't like it's partner and got a sheep companion instead, At least the sheep watches the kid.

I haven't spent much time in the village near my safe houses (since it's really not that nearby), so I haven't seen baby villagers. I have, however, seen a baby zombie. Scared the crap out of me because I was watching some zombies through a 1x1 hole in a cave wall, thinking they couldn't get me, when a tiny one suddenly lunged out and chased me for a bit.

So if I were to start mining and/or crafting in the Monkeycraft server, is there anything I need to be aware of, like "don't mess up anything in such-and-such area" (aside from the obvious projects that have warp points) or "that direction is pretty much unexplored, so do whatever"?

You are free to go where you please, stars. Yeah basically the only rule is to respect other people's creations. But caverns and caves and mineshafts are all fair game.

Gonna do some experimenting in single player to see what kind of fancy mechanisms I can make with all this redstone I've found. Then I'll try my hand at a ridiculous project in the server once I'm comfortable with that stuff.

It's in a fantasy setting.. like D&D, magic, elves, dragons..no hockey

No, it's just an actual hammer with "BAN" engraved into the metal. Every admin has one. I carry mine with me everywhere I go.

Well I got a part of my first tunnel going.

I did eventually find some trees, and I made myself a little safe house after tracking down materials and spending a few nights in the spawn cabin. Started a mine and stumbled upon a moderately sized cavern and a bottomless chasm. I haven't seen any monsters down here yet, but I keep hearing them through the walls...
I've mostly just found coal and iron so far (I guess my single player map just has lots of redstone for some reason), but I did find a single emerald.
EDIT: Been delving deeper into this cave. It's much more extensive than I first thought. I almost fell in some lava a few times (there is a lot of lava down here), and I encountered my first pair of (*looks up the name*) silverfish, but it was worth the risk for all the iron, gold, redstone, and emeralds I've been finding.

Silverfish? I thought they only spawned near fortresses or underneath jungle?
