You can check where you are compared to other settlements on the live map at the start of this topic. That helped me a lot when I was trying to find a spot for my base.

I'm starting to wonder how far I am from other settlements. would be nice if I expand large enough to reach someone else in the future
You're pretty much right next to spawn. Not very close to anyone, but judging from the size of what I've seen you'll expand enough I'm sure.
Did some location scouting earlier and started construction on my new base of operations.
How does one go about setting up a new warp point?
EDIT: Nevermind. The "stars" warp will now take you to my guest house. My base is hidden near there. BUT CAN YOU FIND IT?

Looks like most of you moved south west.
I guess I'll need to expand towards that side as well. but for now, I need to build the housing quarters for the soldiers as well as the armory. then I will continue expanding south though the gardens.
Might build a port outside the tunnel too, since it's the waterway exit. it can't just end up on a shore

Ran into Kyle shortly after discovering a monster base deep in my mine and invited him to join me. We were doing pretty well until a bunch of creepers and an armored zombie took us both out...
EDIT: I guess it's more of an abandoned mine that just happens to be infested with all the things. Before Kyle came on, I even got to kill an enderman that was trapped by low ceilings and got my first ender pearl.

Sooo let me get this straight.... filling a person's house with livestock twice is fine, but pressing a button is a bannable offense. Nice job.

Yes, I filled your house with livestock. It was funny. No damage physical damage was done. Plus, you profited by being able to consume lots of chicken meat and pork.
Let's look at what happened today now.
Stars has a door to his house that involves water. At one point, when he was showing it to me, you and i were both hitting the buttons at the same time, screwing up the door. Stars told us to stop hitting it at the same time. I never hit the button again from that point, because the water had already started to bug out on the outside. So, I started to try and fix the water by hand. Meanwhile, you continue to hit the button. I ask you to stop several times, you keep doing it. So, clearly, you don't get the message, this warrants a kick.
When you rejoined, I saw you (via in-game, and on the map, since I have two monitors) teleport to your house for a while. Then you teleport back to the door Stars and I had just managed to clear the water on, push the button, and teleport back to your house instantaneously.
Right. In. Front. Of. Me.
I asked if you just did that, you said yes, and poof. Banned.
Since you don't know, I come from a once-popular game server community for mainly Garry's Mod called SammyServers. I am a site administrator, and an admin on all of our servers. I'm also a Ban Manager, and was a mentor for new admins. I've banned hundreds of idiots, and kicked several thousand others for stuff like what happened today. For years.
So trust me when I say: my patience for intentionally pissing me off is very short. My method goes like this:
1. I ask you to stop a few times.
2. I kick you.
3. I ban you.
I'd say that's doing a good job, so thanks.
I also suggest we stop talking about this on the public forum. Feel free to send me a PM.

I've unbanned streets as he broke none of the server's rules.
I have, however, amended the rules for the server. Now they are:
[1] Don't piss off Bean
[2] Don't break the server[3] Have fun![4] Don't piss off Frost (syriasly!)[5] Do not plague streets with livestock
So yeah, in future, try not to be a dick to Frost, streets as it is now a ban-able offence.
I wanted orange. It gave me lemon-lime...

I did not know there was such a thing as an Adventurers Guild. :o
I've kind of plagued myself with livestock. I keep having to expand my sheep pen since I keep breeding them for more colors.

Strange, sorry about that. Not sure why that was, but you're doubly unbanned now. It came up with a little message saying "player unbanned" and everything so I'm pretty sure it should work now.
