I know! It would have been! I had so much trouble with our hosts with this update. Next time...

Server is updated. The map is still not working for now.

UPDATE: I've registered with nodecraft. The deal I was offered doesn't seem to be available. I have opened a ticket with their tech support explaining the situation. I'll probably upgrade when I hear back from them.

Ok so, apparently, I don't have permission to use a lava bucket???

We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

I believe only mods can use a lava bucket. I think it's a deterrent for griefing.

I've bugged their owner. Being British, he'll get my bugging tomorrow morning in about 5 hours.

Bean: Talked to James, he followed your ticket up again. Forgot that was you since you two talked. Order the 1gb, then let him know you've done so, and he'll get your package adjusted no problem.

Everyone! You know what this means? The server will be rocket-ship fast with it's shiny solid-state drive. :D

i kinda asked how t oask for things here... but really i was an idiot and should check the signs on my house first x3..

thanks spaz!

i also realized how to build what i want.. though it might be too big for the island i'm living on

it's gonna be approx 90x90 squares long... so is it okay if i build it on the sea in front of my house lol.. after consulting with bean.. it's a bit too over the top lol

Not too bad... But maybe out of respect for your neighbors, find some far away undiscovered place in the world and build there.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

My advice is you don't have to make something huge and enormous to make it interesting. I think building partially over the sea is a cool idea. In that case, I would probably make sure there are stilts or something to make it look like the building is being held up by something other than air.

As to what VP said, you can build somewhere out in the wilderness to respect your neighbors. That being said, you wouldn't have neighbors anymore. You can also respect your neighbors by just using a design that's modest and similar in proportions to what your neighbors have. Nobody wants a skyscraper to go up right next to their little log cabin that's 10 blocks high at it's highest point. But building another log cabin that's similar but unique in it's own way? That's nice.

Hope that helps.

Travel isn't quite as bad as you think it is Derp. Remember when you asked me why I built "so far away?" With the rail line we are practically neighbors.

If what you are planning on building doesn't seem like it'll fit in well with your neighbors, just build on an island somewhere nearby like the others said, and we can help build a rail to your place too.

For now. Soon we upgrade. I got an email from the guy already but transferring the world data over at 10kbps seems like it'll be a hassle and I'm real lazy.

I didn't realize that killing a cow with a fire aspect sword drops instant steak. That's handy!

I'm in the market for a few stacks of redstone to finish my lighthouse. If you have some to spare, name your price.

Give me FTP access. I'll set it to download while I'm at work one day for 8 hours.

Actually, I my friend said he would be happy to transfer your files and such via their datacenter backbone. Would be quicker.

Bam.
