I have a super secret project. But first I must take a short Minecraft sabbatical to attend to some real life ventures. Plus I am getting very little work done lately and things are getting busy.

If you, or anyone with FTP access that knows what they're doing, has a chance... I was trying to /mail sendall and it slapped me with a "You dun have permz beotch" error (That's actually what it said).

Boy do I wish Minecraft added Rainbows as a weather effect. Kinda like the one in the background here:

I'm afraid I've made something awesome (at least I think so).

 

So at my new establishment, I've built a mob-proof wall with piston gates that auto-close at night. Many of you have seen these already.

Now, i've built an pulsating alarm that goes off a little over a minute before the doors close. Then, when they do close for the night, a firework (courtesy of Glace) shoots off in the air signaling the start of nighttime. All this, I managed to conceal and condense while looking relatively not-horrible inside my house.

I don't know if you guys were aware of this, but apparently stairs are super useful at helping redstone do it's thing, while being able to cover it up somewhat, depending on where you need it covered. For instance:

The chests are for firework storage.

 

The right side with the repeaters is a 4 second timer (2 seconds on, 2 seconds off). The redstone torch in the lower left hand corner receives input from outside the castle. When both are powered it sends a signal outside the door to 5 fireworks dispensers. So if you stand on a pressure plate outside my castle you will see 5 fireworks launched off my front gate every 4 seconds.
