I backed it up yesterday.

Also, since the server is being iffy, why don't we go ahead and try our own version of passing around a sluttly minecraft world, having one player build at a time. Based on what he's been saying on facebook , I know Kasper is pretty interested. We just need to zip up our world when it's done and get it to the next person (Preferably via private message). I think we could get this going as soon as this weekend. Let's brainstorm on some rules, and see who's interested.

Rules:
You get one life per "turn." Though it would be easy to cheat, it would defeat the spirit of the concept. Though, with so few members playing, I don't see why we couldn't pass this around a few times.
When you die, save and quit immediately after reloading. Even if you feel like you got cheated out if your turn (dying to soon, etc.)
Build or destroy anything in the world you like--remember, this is about you leaving your mark on the world. I can see why people might object to this, and please say so if you do, but the way I see it this fits the concept.
Difficulty must be set to normal at all times.
One you're done, upload and send via private message to whoever is next in line. I think that once I have a list of participants, I'll randomize the names and we can take turns according to that. I suggest using private messages to keep the world and what we've done somewhat secret. I don't see why a few screenshots would hurt, though, if we're really feeling like showing off.
Remember, we're a community. And we love each other. A lot.

Alright, I fell to my death. Since the wife did not want to go next, and Tupa is the only other volunteer, I'm going to pass the world on to him.

You could be like Spazcat, and have minecraft be your gateway drug to mouse + keyboard FPS'ing.

already used to do it. i still havent found a guide, but i made a sandcastle with a glass floor straight to the bottom of the map.

The server it was on didn't really seem up to the task. The swapping was worse than on your rig and the lag was pretty severe too.

We do really need to find a good home for it.

Strange, as it has similar specs as mine and it wasn't doing anything other than running the server.

Why not just use Hyperlisk's VPS?

started exploring slut world yesterday, it's great.

I already found my perfect project spot and started building a bit. and on top of that I found another great place for my second project (if get to live that long)

Server seems to be running quite smoothly tonight. The problem might have been other network traffic. The guy said he was playing some mmo in the background.
