Based on just their first stage looks, I am leaning Grass > Fire > Water. The otter just looks retarded in my opinion and I, too, will be very sad if they make it Water/Ice. Hope they branch out on some new or improved typings. Quagsire was the first Water/Ground but I think Swampert improved on the typing. Then Blaziken was the first Fire/Fighting. Hope they do that again instead of repeating like they did with Infernape.

What I am more interested in is the look of the trainers. The male protagonist looks waaaaaaaay better than the ones from RS and DP. Did not like the goofy white hat thingy on Brendon from RB and I think no one liked the beret and french looking guy from DP. This guy looks like a throw back to the design from the first two. The girl....well she definitely makes one believe the claim that these two are supposed to be more than 10-years-old. The pants have gotten shorter, though not nearly as bad as Dawn's skirt....maybe. I see girls wearing that kind of short jeans in real life and never liked them. Her clothes are definitely more like an older girl and that hair is just crazy! I have to say that right now I like both the boy and girl protagonist better than the ones found in the last two generations.

Agreed on the protagonists generally looking better (though I liked the beret...) and on the girl having crazy hair. I'm also agreeing on the grass > fire > water priority, and I generally dislike grass types. <_<

Sure it made sense. It was a rooster. People make roosters fight, hence it was a fighting type.

I'd probably wait to see what all those starters evolved into, but based solely on 1st forms I'd probably go Fire > Grass > Water. But we'll see.
