The grass type actually looks pretty cool... and a water bunny... well this time, let's just say this is the first water starter I don't think I'll ever use.

and why always the same types for starters? why cant we choose between dark, steel, and ice?

Fire/Water/Grass creates that circular movement of type advantages. Fire > Grass > Water > Fire. You can't do that with you Dark/Steel/Ice, but it is why people have always suggested Fighting/Psychic/Dark because it keeps that same loop. It's also because it is part of tradition to the franchise. I know you are all long time hard core fans, but they also have to cater to the knew people and give them part of the experience that has been with it forever.

And I made my type choice before seeing that picture, I just thought it was a good example to show that the silhouette looking weird doesn't meant he Pokemon will look weird. I bet most Pokemon look bizarre as a silhouette.

I think he means it in the sense...from left to right is Grass, Fire, and Water because in the Pokedex it goes Grass, Fire, and then Water starters.

Qft; But I like the sound of Illusion more than Claw Sharpen. Depending on how that works, I can imagine alllll kinds of fun with that...

I wonder if their final forms will be dual-type, or more specifically, what their second types will be. I think Gen II was the only one where none of the starters became dual-types.

Hmm...Tsutaja is a snake, but it doesn't look poisonous. Grass/electric could be interesting but seems even more unlikely.
Maybe fire/ground for Pokabu. Or fire/dark just based on its color scheme.
Mijumaru looks like it might turn into a water/ice, which would make me sad.

These things need English names pronto so that they can be easier to type.
