I like the new perspective.

glad that theyre adding more urbanized areas. id love to know how the creators feel about the clash between nature and humanity that would naturally occur like so much pink elephant. i doubt itll ever be answered though....

and is it too much to ask for an M rated pokemon game? i wanna play as toros, and stomp a bitch's head in.

better not be the only thing new though. Better have some badass pokemon to show for it, cuz that Z thing doesn't really cut it for me. Though it may have mimic, mirror move, transform, etc.

I'm more than a little disappointed that the battle screen still has 2D sprites and no (real) backgrounds.

Stuff like Defog. Completely unnecessary move. At the very least, stuff like that needs to go the way of Flash and be turned into a TM that nobody will ever use.

well, they may still have real backgrounds, but are unwilling to give away more than that, and this battle screen is still better than before. Although Z has a naked ass. Put some damn pants on.

I'd be fine with like...
Cut, Fly, and Surf. Because those also aren't that bad of moves to use in battle too, as long as it's not competitive.

Hey now, Strength is a way better move than Cut. They're both Normal types but I think that Strength with 80 Base Power beats Cut with only 50. Dive only existed in Gen III and Whirlpool in Gen II and HGSS. So really the only long standing of those three Water HMs is Waterfall which is beastly on something like Gyarados with 80 power and chance of flinch. I'd be happy with Fly, Surf, Strength and Waterfall, which is what we had in the original games except Flash instead of Waterfall and no Cut. Hate Flash, hate Defog, hate Dive, hate Whirlpool, and kinda dislike Rock Smash. Never use it and too weak to be used, but at least you can find fossils with it in HGSS.

Agreed, although Dive and Rock Smash would be fine as TMs.

Rock Smash should go the way of Headbutt in Gold and Silver; normal move that has an outside of battle effect. They still do that with Teleport and Dig. And yeah, Dive could just be the Water counter part to Fly. Again, we have Fly (Flying), Dig (Ground), Dive (Water), Bounce (Flying w/ paralysis), so there is already a small tradition there with two stage moves like that.

Let's not forget rock climb, which is another normal HM move, but 90 power, lesser accuracy, chance to flinch. I have that on my machamp because it's a decent move to have when fighting and rock moves aren't going to do well... which is I'm not sure when, now that I think about it. Hell, it made it convenient to get up to that area around where heatran was in dpt.

Let's face it, without HM's, we'd all have released bidoofs and bibarels long ago and then glitched our games so they'd never appear again.

I don't mind HM moves, I just wish they weren't required to get through the game. Especially since to get to the Elite four I need Surf and Strength, and then depending on the game, rock smash, rock climb, waterfall... It's ridiculous!

what if they did something like making the second type like a secondary type? like how gengar is a ghost/poison? ignore the second type, and give gengar the ability to learn poison moves. like hes just a ghost who is coincidentally poisonous.
