Jesus suffering for our sins?
That seems like the most "logical" assumption... but... Jesus seems to be enjoying it.
All I'm really reminded of is when bad parents tell their kids that lying makes baby jesus sad.
Shooting up heroin makes grown jesus... wanna get high.

I have a few thoughts to share that I didn't see any need to make an entire topic for. Spaz is planning on trading in her current DS and a bunch of games, including two of mine that I haven't played in some time (Advance Wars: Dual Strike, and Advance Wars: Days of Ruin). Her goal is to get a 3DS to play the new pokemon games on. She borrowed a friend's DSi in order to trade, and I was reminded that, for a brief time, I had a DSi. That was around the time I fell out of love with NIntendo.
I suppose it's not NIntendo's fault. They simply took their business in a new direction, as is their right, and it is likely that they knew they would be losing a portion of their fan base. I was a part of that base. I was fanboy extraordinaire during the SNES, N64 and Gamecube days. I was convinced that Nintendo's focus was games, and maybe it was, until the Wii and DSi came along. Even though Nintendo has been one of the most draconian publishers in history, I didn't fully realize it until this time. It was Nintendo's way or the high way. Again, as is their right. They did make the hardware, afterall.
This could be one of the main reasons I have become a PC gamer almost exclusively. I don't feel as though my games are locked down by any specific publisher or hardware***. I started PC gaming using my first laptop that I got in 2003, and still enjoy the same games I was playing back then, on the same hardware that I enjoy modern games, with little or no trouble.
I don't know if I really have a point to be made with this. I guess I was just feeling nostalgic and wanted to post about it. I do have a lot of fond memories of Nintendo games, but it looks like Nintendo seems to think that the only cure for nostalgia is constant remakes and bland sequels, on underpowered hardware.
***Yes I am fully aware of the irony that the vast majority of my PC game purchases are on Steam, effectively locking me in to a specific publisher. However, I have yet to feel as though I have been locked in, and I will, for now, remain an optimist and assume that that day will never come.

I don't know what it was, either.

This isn't just Nintendo, it's everybdoy. If you remove the hardware bit, it even includes Hollywood.Nintendo seems to think that the only cure for nostalgia is constant remakes and bland sequels, on underpowered hardware.

Or, to put it more politely, "Neener neener."

Wow, how have I not heard of this game? Best premise ever. You play an octopus, pretending to be a human dad. The controls/physics look hilariously awkward.

That game is really hard. I got frustrated at the controls and gave up.

There's not a lot of information about it yet, but I am reading that the new Mirror's Edge game might be a reboot? Or a prequel that re-writes some of the original's story? I mean, the story wasn't groundbreaking or even all that great, but why...?
I'm still pretty excited, but some of my excitements are dwindling...

A reboot probably because the original didn't sell too well, and it's been forever since it came out. Obviously EA just wants to franchise everything, so it's understandable.

how's the freerunning work in mirror's edge? i'm getting frustrated with assasin's creed. when you have the freerunning activated, it "snaps" to whatever the closest interactive object is. Infamous i think did it right, you had to actually make contact with the object to interact with it, and you were able to turn your character around a lot faster.

Mirror's Edge requires a bit of precision. It definitely doesn't snap you toward objects. Turning to look around is kinda slow when you're hanging off a ledge or what have you, but there is a quick-turn button you can use at any time, whether standing still or during a series of jumps.
