---- Grandma (age 91) had to be admitted to the hospital late last night because a lab report showed she had critically low sodium levels.

---- She also has a UTI.

- I am her only relative in town because my dad and uncle are travelling.

- Had to visit her at the hospital.

---- Her memory and sharpness are shot.

---- Getting her to eat was a hassle because 1) she really needs to eat more as part of her treatment, 2) she really doesn't want to eat, and 3) I don't blame her; hospital food - yuk!

----------- All of my childhood imagery of her vibrancy and memory and fun are out the window.

++++++++++++++++ I actually got to use sleight of hand! Breakfast was served and she didn't want the fruit so I made a deal with her. I'd eat a piece of the fruit if she ate a spoonful of hot cereal. I saw the pieces dwindling and since there was more spoons of cereal than pieces of fruit I decided to palm a melon cube and repeatedly dip my hand into the cup to pick out the same melon. I got her to eat a 2 cups-of-fruit worth before she caught on!

++ Team basically doubled. Went from the smallest to the biggest in like a week.

++++ Was told there was going to be a pseudo split in the team and I'd manage people even if I wouldn't be promoted. Half the team (with my lead) would deal with one big special client (that is like our company's number one goal to make happy) and I'd deal with my regular clients.

--------------- Then was told it was the other way around. Which was depressing because I so didn't want to deal with the big client.

++ But there is still excitement in having to work with a new client, even if everyone else is down on them.

++++++ So far it's been easy. I think all the negativity came from having one person work on it, now there's like three (including me).

+++++++++++++++ And I got a very nice raise because of it today (had to ask, but I got even more than I asked for), even though I just got a raise at the beginning of the month (Although this one is much better).

+ Seriously, I love this, but what is with all the birds of prey I've been seeing this summer? First a hawk, now a falcon. Totally not complaining, though, especially since I've wanted to see a falcon in the wild for a very long time.

This test makes me wish I was smart enough to save the MOTY broadcast. Why? We were rocking around 1.5mbps upload speed at the time, but due to some clever kajiggering, I managed to have a mostly smooth twitch stream featuring an active minecraft connection, and a very active skype session with multiple connections. Feats like that needs to be shared.

+Wonder Woman, Odyssey v2 was even better than v1. :D Excellent series. Highly recommend.

+Ended up getting today off because we didn't need so many people scheduled

+This was good because the gf wanted me to get the day off so we could go to the beach with her mom and sister

-But then gf was the one who couldn't get the day off

-And on top of that she's been miserably sick all week, so even though we were going to drive an hour, stay for an hour, and drive the hour back...she called this morning and canceled

++We don't have to drive 2 hours round-trip to hang out with her mom for an hour anymore!

 

-I'm starting to feel a little off. (I feel like getting sick this round is all-but guaranteed; it's more a matter of when...)

-Which is going to suck because I work with little kids and I don't want to be sick around them.

-Also we have like, no food in the house, but I'm really not feeling up for going out and grocery shopping. Blehhh.

 

+Trying to teach Tucker (my cockatiel) to go to the bathroom on tissues, instead of on me or on the couch. We shall see how this goes.
