If you ever get bored of your Wii U, or want to make it a bit more powerful, I'd suggest softmodding it. I softmodded mine and it's pretty awesome.
It doesn't mod the Wii U part of your system, just the Wii part, so it's basically exactly how one would softmod an old Wii. There's the big obvious reason for doing this, piracy (which is kind of important since not every VC/Wiiware game you can even get legally anymore). But there's stuff it adds that vWii can't do, like hard drive support , online multiplayer, and Gamecube game support (although not disc support, and you'll need specific controllers). It really breathes a bit of life into the Wii part of the Wii U, especially since it doesn't change anything about the Wii U mode of the console.
