How about Timid? ups speed, lowers atk. I'd use Lugia mainly as a special attacker anyways...

Timid would be a fine choice. It already has beastly Defense and Sp. Defense stats and speed is high, too, but not guaranteed to be the fastest. I think Lugia's movepool leans toward Special Attacks so dropping Attacking won't harm it. So long as the nature doesn't drop either of its defenses it would be fine, but Timid I think is one of the more popular choices for it.
Now I'm going to spend a 2 1/2 hour car drive back to my university to play nonstop Voltorb Flip to earn enough coins for TMs like Thunderbolt and Flamethrower. It's a fun game, yet so far the board hates me. Every time I make a logical guess choice, like choosing the square that intersects a 6-1 row and an 8-1 column....I find the Voltorb. Sigh...

And yeah, I like having Legendaries with good natures, even if i don't raise 'me later. I like having that option only. As for the TM's I'm only a little above halfway to 10k. I also read the game corner in Celadon has different prizes.
And yeah, I went ahead with the Timid one. I was tired and without sleep and it's pretty good for my half plans for it.
It turns out you can only buy one of each item a day with your pokeathalon points... which leaves me with this question: WHERE/HOW DO YOU GET HEART SCALES IN THIS GAME?!?!?!

I know I wanted a way to turn out fave's shiny... but hmmm... just to find 'em you have to either get really lucky when you check your walking pokemon, or learn the different routes where they can be found. I like that it has the requirement that the pokemon has to like you a lot in order to find it, which means it's a pokemon you actually use and put effort into.

Okay... so a crown...? That's it? That's all it does?

I'm sorry, Cy, but he is.
He sends out Gengar and I switch out Flaaffy for my HM Rattata to get the effects of Curse off of it; I don't need to lose 1/4 HP every turn against his strongest Pokemon. Sadly, he uses Mean Look so I can't switch out Rattata and have to wait until he kills he. Then he puts it to sleep with Hypnosis. Now Gengar's other two moves are Shadow Ball and Sucker Punch, and Shadow Ball doesn't damage Rattata. Then for some unknown reason, Gengar uses Sucker Punch 5 times while I am asleep, and it only has 5 PP and only works when I attack. So now Gengar has no way of damaging me and I have no way of hurting it knowing only Cut, Quick Attack, Rock Smash, and Tail Whip. He then proceeds to use up all his Mean Look, followed by Hypnosis, and ending with using worthless Shadow Balls. I manage to drop its defense 6 stages while waiting. Eventually Gengar uses Struggle and kills my Level 4 Rattata. A level 4 Rattata basically ruined Morty's level 25 Gengar. Needless to say I won the Gym match with ease after that.
I repeat, Morty is a dumbass.

Edit: I seriously have accumulated a shitton of steps and watts in my walker somehow at work, where I do walk quite a bit, but the area's cramped so it isn't really far. I'd really like to at least return from the stroll soon.

In other news, I finally obtained the prized DS from my buddy at anime club today. I had to stand in for him in Anime Charades today, but I'd say it was well worth it. Been busy with surprise family get togethers and stuff so I haven't actually really played it again yet, but I look forward to it.
Also... need berrries that raise friendliness but lower special attack. Anybody got those... I kind read shit wrong and did things wrong while raising my magmar, and soon to be magmortar.

Gym Badges: 4
Time: 15:30
Pokemon:
Lv.23 Chikorita
Lv.23 Smoochum
Lv.23 Corsola
Lv.23 Togetic
Lv.23 Heracross
Bugsy has been the only trainer so far to give me trouble. Her Scyther and its U-Turn gave my team one hell of a match. I'm still uncertain if I want a sixth pokemon; it might be the shiny Pichu.
