lololol i like that open loft with 6 twin beds cabin. it has very cultish feeling to the listing. i'd be totally up for doing this. would two weeks before labor day be long enough to plan/save?

So we're thinking somewhere around August 16th through August 29th? I think 3 months is a fair amount of time.

 

• We all need to decide on which house to rent,
• Who will book it (we'll have to have a name on it)
• How will the monies for renting it will be handled.

I have to check in with my boss first. If those dates fall around a holiday, where I work may be on blackout. (That, and I'm already taking a week off at the end of July for something else. But most importantly - blackout.)

 

As for where we're staying, I know I put it in parenthesis in a semi joking fashion but I really would prefer something a little cheaper. It looks super amazing, but as much as $76 a night is a low-end hotel room a night, usually when I get those low-end hotels I'm splitting that bill with several people...

 

If I'm able to go, I'm going to see if my gf is interested, but I have no idea if a) she will be or b) she can get it off. XD 

 

Also, if there's more than 10 of us, we apparently don't fit in the mansion. Hahaha.

Hillside - "sleeps 14 comfortably". $299/night for up to 6 people during the week, +$25/night for each additional. ($400/night weekends).  Current special running is 10% off your stay if it's 4+ nights. 

 

I'd look into a few others but I have to head to work. I'll check with my boss on when Labor Day's work blackout starts. 

 

Addendum: If all the places we're looking at are about the same price, then 1000% yes to the same-price mansion.

My sister's family is visiting from overseas this summer, so I'll need to double check when they're going back home. I definitely want to come though. (And add another vote for "cheaper is better." Unless the house is awesome enough.)

EDIT: They leave August 8, so that won't be a factor.

Yeah, I'm pretty serious, too. Especially since that's $76 a night, without food or transportation figured in. I haven't done the math, but it might be on the cusp of being a bit too much for me. Plus, we could still get something really nice for cheaper, anyhow, so I going the more expensive route isn't necessary.

(and if Monkey can't go this time of year, maybe we should wait, anyhow? Would we really have MP-Con without the guy who founded it?)

Okay the cheaper Hillside does look nice. You're both right that price is far more manageable. I say we go with that. Cheaper, more space.

 

Puffin does carry a good point about Kenneth being there. I know we're all special, but MP-Con wouldn't really be MP-Con without MD.

When were you thinking next year? I guess it wasn't really said, but did we want this to also be an out-doors kinda thing? As in not stuck inside in the dead of winter? I have no issues with moving this back. I just want it to happen.
