Double sigh.
The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

In fact, it wasn't until a few years ago that I actually understood what it meant that Jesus died on the cross. I had been going to church my entire life, and it never made any sense until then. I understand the Christian faith.
I don't remember exactly when I started to doubt the whole thing, but it was related to seeing people close to me make really stupid decisions concerning religion (Oddly enough, not related to Christianity). I guess it just started to sink in that all religions are equal. Similar rules and promises. Some sillier than others. But they are equal.
Also, explain Satan all you want, but the concept still doesn't sit well with me. Makes no sense at all. Especially if I were a person seeking spirituality. I know that many religions are about forgiveness, Christianity especially, but eternal damnation? It just makes no sense.
For instance, we're having these arguments because we believe different things. We see the world in different ways, and feel differently about different subjects. In fact, though people here share a lot of common interests, no two people here are the same. People are simply different. Why is that? Life experiences, how we were raised, genetics, etc. But mostly because of genetics. Something that a man has no choice over when he is born. We could get in to an argument over free will (which we may have had on this board at one time), but that doesn't matter. Your genetics has more to do with the choices you make than you may want to admit.
I don't remember choosing to like pizza or peanut butter, Lost or Battlestar Galactica, Bob Dylan or The White Stripes, or girls with the librarian look. I just... do. You may not. Others here definitely do not. I'm sure they didn't chose not to, either.
So what about people who are perhaps natural born sinners? People who don't think murder is wrong? People who's sexual fantasies should never, ever be talked about? The kleptomaniacs who steal because it is a compulsion, not because they really want to? Did any of them choose to be this way?
Yes, it is true that many "sinners" are conscious enough to recognize that their actions are wrong, at least after some amount of time. Usually after getting in to trouble for it. But the thoughts that made them sinners would still remain. "Repeat offender" is a term that is often used for a reason.
And what of those sinners who die before they reach a moment of self-consciousness? Given no chance for forgiveness or repentance. I suppose Satan has a special place set aside for them.
What about the ever burning question, "If God knows everything that is and ever will be," how can free will truly exist? What difference does it make whether or not we serve god, since he already knows what's going to happen to us? Does this further imply that in some way god doesn't care, since he already knows whether or not you'll go to heaven? Yeah there are lots of supposed "answers" for this, but none of them are really satisfactory, unless you're already a christian.
Given how little choice a person actually has over their life, the concept of satan simply does not make any sense.

I do, however, only have one thing that that actually needs to be said. It's not about religion or the existence of god or whatever. My following comment is targeted squarely at Resonator.
You are wrong.
And, since quoting song lyrics supposedly adds validity to your arguments, here's one of my favorites:
Just 'cause you feel it, doesn't mean it's there

I don't know, it's just from my experience but things we do feel better when it's not for God. There's just the line you draw in your mind in that you just don't do it for God, to put it in another sense. Is it so wrong to enjoy life?

I've said it again and again; YOU must experience what I have experienced in order to follow what I'm saying. I don't expect you to understand completely but it seems that you don't even want to do that. It's like saying "Hey there's a piece of pie there in front of you, it was meant to be eaten by you so finish it!" and you respond "I don't even want to look at it because I'd rather starve."
Will there be a time when you would try? Is it because you have to find the proof for yourselves that you automatically believe it's not true? Do not be so vain, if you have eyes to see then take a look in the mirror and understand the direction you're going, and what you're doing now to get there. It's not that hard a concept to understand, mind over matter. If I have said a truth, which is the light is connected to all of you, does it not make sense that you need a tool to look within yourself to find that light, and that you might have this tool already in your mind waiting to be used? It is not so difficult but you have to see it for yourself. It is simply something I cannot show you on my own.
Tell me: What do I deny, if it is my very nature to do so in your eyes?
On a smaller note:
Don't turn your back on Paradise...

And in knowing this I receive direction. Every time I write something here, I can literally feel his guardians touch me, be it on the shoulder, or the chest, or the leg. It comes in the form of a twitch, but we know what a twitch is. It's a fluctuation of energy on the nerve endings. So tell me where this comes from, and I will believe you perhaps. But I understand it as a fluctuation in my own light body, being there is more energy in one spot (For a brief moment) than there is at normal operating frequency, and thus causes a slight "overload".
2 days ago, in thinking there was actually Meteor about to rain on me the next day, I sat in front of my icons and meditated, asking questions that when asked "Were not worthy of a response". So I asked that if there was anything to be given, may it be given to me then. And my God, if there is something for you there I swear you have to try it for yourself, because the feeling and sincere power I received that night was absolutely liberating, and I felt the twitch on my forehead to symbolize that is the only one place He will touch you.
When you try, you might feel it too. You might have already felt the angels touch you, but then again perhaps you were not looking for what I found that night. He gave me divine strength, against all odds, and while perhaps I did not receive anything real I found myself with the will to fight fear with courage, and new found love to combat hate when it meets me. But above all it strengthened my resolve for his will, and I don't think I can look back at my past the same way I did before.

In other, more simple words, stop posting here. Nobody gives a shit about what you think. We've already won. You lost. Get over it. Get a life. Get laid. Get some Subway, they have nice $5 foot longs. Nobody trusts a single word from you, you gullible ass, so seriously, stop trying to communicate with any human being whatsoever.

Please don't be believing everything you read on the internet. It is largely full of shit and very falsifiable. Get outside the house more and stop being so paranoid. Learn how to view the world objectively, and then let go of your delusions of grandeur. This is your final task as a human being.
Hugs and kisses, XOXO,
God
