Dishonored is fun. im trying really hard not to kill anyone or be seen because thatd be a great first playthrough trophy. the stealth is almost too easy, ive snuck up directly beside several people and choked them out. they would have seen me in any other game. either way, this game plays like it wants to be beaten, which is a nice change of pace after playing some tower defense games.

Two of the games on my to-play list for 2014 were Portal and Portal 2, so I'm maybe half way through Portal 2 right now (And have already played through Portal). Though I truly love Portal 2, it's a great example of how increasing the scale of something that was perfect is not a garuntee that you're going to create more of something that is perfect.

I'm so glad someone else thinks this.

I played through probably more than 3/4 of Portal 2 (stopped for one distraction or another and never got back around to playing), and as much as I enjoyed what I've played, it got a little too complex for my tastes. I like games for the puzzles, but once you start adding in fifty different things I need to do...it got to be a bit much.

I loved the puzzles. What I didn't care for was the in-between bits that were obnoxious to navigate due to the lack of places you could shoot a portal.

Also co-op is amazing.

Oh no no, I pre-ordered it, waited until the game unlocked at 12a.m., started the download, then woke up again at 5a.m. just so I could play some of it before work that same day. But just like anybody, I enjoy replaying games sometimes.

I know exactly how you feel. One of the things I loved most about the first game were the challenge rooms, where you had to complete a room in the fewest steps, fewest portals, or shortest time. I probably played those more than the regular game (Admittedly the regular game takes less than an hour to beat once you know the puzzles, but I have played through it multiple times). These were a perfect way to expand on the puzzle solving in the main game. Portal 2 added a lot of extra stuff that was just kinda... strange. I was really, really, really sad that nothing like this existed in Portal 2. The closest was...

Also co-op is amazing.

Yes, the co-op is, in fact, amazing. I wonder if any of these steam workshop maps are made for co-op? Hm.

I haven't really replayed Portal 2 (or played them back to back) but I remember at the time loving Portal 2 much more than I did Portal. Maybe I'd change my mind if I played them back to back, but I don't know. I remember the last time I did play Portal was after I had played Portal 2 and I felt a little bored. Probably for a few reasons, one of them being because I was so used to the game by then. But Portal was sterile, simple, and that is what made it great at the time. That is what really made it perfect. But Portal 2 couldn't have just been Portal again, that would have been boring. I enjoyed the aspects that Portal 2 brought, it did it gradually, and I really don't think it overused it (I did also beat that game in basically one sitting, so maybe it just didn't feel monotonous). What I think Portal 2 really succeeded in doing was adding depth to the world around it and didn't make itself monotonous and boring, which it could have easily done. And I love it for that. I enjoy Wheatley and Cave Johnson, I enjoy exploring the not so beautiful parts of the Aperture Lab, I enjoy seeing another starchy side of GLaDOS. The parts in between are great too, even if it's not just the shoot portals and figure it out. I feel like the interluding parts between levels are puzzles in themselves, that tended to be a lot more fun to figure out because I couldn't just easily used a portal to figure it out.

Personally, I think Portal is perfect for what it is. I don't think Portal 2 is perfect, but I definitely like it more for what it is.

I'll be playing the Sly Cooper HD Collection tomorrow... I have about two weeks to finish it, because in two weeks, I'll be getting Final Fantasy X/X-2's HD Remaster. And you know I'm not putting that one down.

Started playing Persona 3: FES.

Takes legit forever to get started, and I can definitely say that if I do a second playthrough I am NOT looking forward to sitting around for a little over an hour just to play again.

But I've gotten to explore Tartarus a little bit and enjoy that part of the game, so I'm happy.

Yeah. That's west kind of sucks about Persona, it takes forever to get going. That's why P4 Golden is so great, you can skip if you want.

Although I enjoy the story if the games, so the cut scenes usually don't bug me (some social links are a bore though)

In playing South Park. It's so fun to just explore all day. I haven't really even done anything main story wise. Just been exploring the city with Butters.

I ordered South Park: The Stick of Truth off of Amazon the other day, so I'll be getting to that later. (I also got Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, and the two Lego Harry Potter games)

Just have to wait until Tuesday or so for it to get here.

As someone else that's never got to play portal 2 properly.. i hope you enjoy the game.. i'll get round to it one day.

I've just been playing a lot of bloodbowl.. It's like a fantasy turn-based american football game... (it's originally a board game) and i find it really amazing...good for people who like to play strategy games that aren't irritatingly complex.

Finished South Park: The Stick of Truth. Pretty great. I'd recommend it if you like South Park or Paper Mario (and can handle that kind of comedy).

It's really well done, but the PS3 one is a bit buggy. But also incredibly short, wouldn't recommend buying it until the price goes down ($40 at most).

Also, I played Banished. A bit disappointing. It really is lacking, but enjoyable for what it is.

I played left 4 dead 2 for the first time on a computer.... Also i think i may have died the quickest ever after joining a game... and having 6hp and being killed by a tank in like 5 seconds...

It was fun... but i should probably play with volume on next time lol

I am about 13 or so hours into Persona 3.

I'm a little past the third (second?) Full Moon event, the one where you meet Fuuka for the first time. And by little, I mean I just finished the boss fight.

Does this game ever get any harder? As long as your character isn't exhausted, you are pretty OP. I beat the boss(es) of the third full moon in like one shot each. I would have beat them quicker, but I accidentally used fire on an enemy and it blocked it, so my boss fight went one turn longer than it needed to.

I mean, don't get me wrong, it's still a lot of fun, but it's been piss easy so far.

Are you playing on hard?

I don't know. If you don't easily "get" the game it's really hard because you don't control anyone but the main. I think it does get harder, but it also matters how much you go to tarturus and level everyone.

Also, usually, one bad move in those games can get you fucked. I don't remember if the begning is easier than I remember, but I do feel later on it gets harder (and the answer is pretty hard too)

Not "hard". no. I don't even remember there being a hard option. I remember an easy and a normal mode. I chose normal.

I was hesitant, because I'd heard Persona games were harder than the average RPG. But so far, it's actually just as easy.

I've only gone to Tartarus a few times honestly, I usually go once a week, and level at the highest levels I can currently go to. It seems to be doing the job, since I can usually spend a good long time there. I'm doing a ton of challenges as they come up too, so I'm doing as close to 100% playthrough as I can (I know I won't be able to do a 100% playthrough though, I've been told it's practically impossible without a guide of some sort, and I'm not the type who uses guides.)

I'm liking the social link aspect however, the stories are pretty interesting so far. Though I do wish the characters you meet in these social links would be able to become members of your party, even if weak ones. But I understand why (in story) they can't do that.

I already discovered something I was doing wrong though (though this is in part due to pretty crappy in game explanation I think more so than my own misunderstanding). I learned that in the Evening (when you can elect to go to Tartarus) you can go to the Paulownia Mall and do the stuff there. I had always assumed it was Tartarus or sleep/study in your room. Then I found out I can go to the Mall and do things to boost my courage/charm/academics, and ALSO go sleep/study.

I know I'm not making it sound right or anything, but basically I'd always go to my room instantly if I wasn't going to Tartarus. Now I know to go to the Mall, and then study in my room at nights.

If I do a second playthrough (which I will for sure, eventually) I'm going to be much much more efficient.

You'll never get 100% by going to Tartarus so often (I only ever went maybe twice a month? at most). You'll miss out on social links which if you don't do correctly will make it impossible to 100%, and you'll not be able to get the best Personas.

Also if you're not trying to get Charm/Courage/Knowledge to 100% as quickly as possible you'll miss out on some social links. Particularly with the girls.

I mean the game is super easy if you just level. That's what makes Persona 4 kinda easy (but also P4 is so much more strict with days, ugh) since it's super easy to grind in that game. I do believe it gets harder though, since I'm not 100% sure where you are. I know part of the problem with the game in the beginning is just getting used to how you should play, and if you don't immediately master it the game can start out rough.

Maybe Persona 3 is easier than I remember. Persona 4 was a bit hard, but only if you messed up/took the wrong people. Persona 3 had a harder battle system though, and you couldn't control the characters in P3 (except portable) which could cause things to end up bad...

I still think Persona is harder than normal RPGs, especially if you want to 100%. But it's supposed to be the easy accessible part of the Shin Megami Franchise. And SMT can be hard as balls.
