I'm playing A Link Between Worlds.

It is fantastic. It's really a near-perfect panoramic Zelda. I love that all of the items are available from the start, it really helps with the exploration aspect of the game, which I love Zelda games for. Since it opens up most of the world at the start (but not all of it). It's really enjoyable, especially for the Zelda fanboy inside of me. Only thing I kind of don't like is the minigames, but you kind of need to do them for some pieces of hearts. (I totally suck at the baseball one)

Are there still items you can only get in dungeons and such, or are all of them available in the shop?

Still playing Rogue Legacy, trying to get as many +gold upgrades as I can.

As far as I've seen no. However there's items that you'll eventually get later on (lesser items, like gauntlets and fins and tunics). You need to have a certain item in your possession before you enter the dungeon, so each dungeon is based around a certain item. It kind of sounds like this would all take away from the experience, but it really doesn't. I can't believe how great it plays.

Early game grind can be a bit slow. Takes time to really build yourself up. I currently gain about 20,000+ Gold a run through now, so I can buy a few upgrades. (upgrades get wicked expensive)

NG+ has also been a difficult grind in the beginning. I beat the first boss, but holy crap, the enemies are so much tougher and do more damage now. Anything but my best, and I fail to even get to the forest, let alone clear it.

I am making some progress (finally got around to beating the first boss a little while ago), but I'm still grinding rather than progressing much. I average around 1000 gold on a good run right now, but its not uncommon for me to get a small enough amount that I can't buy a single upgrade...

From your experience, was the Blood armor/sword worth the drop in HP and other stats, or should I stick with Knight equips until I can get something stronger?

In my opinion, the first boss was the hardest, I needed a Barbarian King to take the meat of his attacks, and just kept swinging away. On NG+, he was so much easier for some strange reason. Either I got better, or bosses don't level in NG+.

For me, the Blood armor/sword is a play style difference. Do you find yourself killing enemies fairly quickly? If you kill 10 or so enemies in a room for example, how many hits do you take?

I didn't use blood items because of the armor trade off personally. I did the fairy chest rooms and got the Vampirism runes, which give all the benefits of draining health, without the drawbacks of affecting my armor. But for where you are, you may want to consider two blood items, and focusing on trying to level up your armor and health.

One of these days I will play that game again. And finish it, ideally.

And yeah, wow, the second boss in Rogue Legacy was super easy.

I always play that game around Christmas. Christmas just reminds me of it, the year it came out and I got it for Christmas and it was my life. I actually just bought it to play as soon as I was done with Persona... So i might download it to my Vita tonight...

Mixing things up with some Guacamelee. It plays something like a cross between Metroid and Zelda, with some luchador action to spice things up. I'm not very far into it yet (just the first "dungeon"), but I like what I've played so far.

Beat a Link Between Worlds. Wonderful game. Probably has my favorite dungeons of any Zelda game, honestly. Also I was pretty surprised by the ending to be honest. I wasn't expecting a lot from this game and it more then delivered. Definitely in the top 5 of Zelda games, if not my absolute favorite.

Also kinda played a bit of Persona 4 Arena's Story Mode. It's so long, for like...6 battles? It's like a long visual novel. It's good though.

I've been playing Pokemon X, and I have to say, I love it. It changes quite a lot of things for the better, while still being the same where it should be.

I've spent most of my time in Wonder Trade though :V

I'm glad you liked it so much, I felt exactly the same way. It turned out so much better than what I thought was going to be just a boring rehash of Link to the Past. Instead, it was a really really good rehash of Link to the Past.

I've been playing a lot of Borderlands 2. It's super fun but gets a bit repetitive once you hit level 20 or so. Also been playing a bit of Persona 4 Golden (because my secret santa is the best) but probably will wait to delve into it once I have a couple days off.

I told you the second boss was easy. I thought all the bosses were easier than the mooks you had to fight to get to the bosses. NG+ only compounds that.

I have a tom of new games to play when I get home. Borderlands 2, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, and a mystery game I am presently unaware of, along with all th Steam games I bought during the sale.

Gonna be a fun end to the year.

That's probably best because it takes a while for that game to really get going. Which kind of sounds bad but I don't know if it is, since I actually enjoyed the beginning, despite how long it was, since it was the beginning of a mystery and all this weird stuff starts to happen, it was intriguing. Still a little long though. Also, just a suggestion on playing, but make sure you do as much Social Link stuff as possible, and your choices to matter a lot. Honestly I cheated when it came to that part, since it is so important but so hard to do properly if you aren't being guided, and I just don't got time to do play this game twice like I did (it took me over 100 hours my first time.)

What difficulty did you play it on? I'm assuming that higher difficulties just means more grinding.

Normal. The game would especially be hard for someone not used to the battle system. You really need to think of what you bring into battle and who. It's very magic heavy kind of game. The last few bosses gave me a little trouble with maxed out characters, so i can only imagine what the two harder difficulties would be like. It would be quite the challenge.

Honestly though I don't mind grinding, and grinding in this game never felt like a chore until the end when I was just hunting rare shadows for money.
