Okay, another I haven't posted in a while so all the things:

I play Drawful and Super Smash Bros for Wii U a lot at work.

At home I've been playing off and on Fry Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto V, and Persona Q.

What I've mainly been playing though is Suikoden on my Vita. I'm trying so hard to get through this game so I can have a save to pass over to Suikoden II (which is what I really want to play).

Suikoden is good, I've never played it as much as I have II/III. There's something about it...it feels really amateurish. Like the graphics are good, for the most part, but the maps and puzzles and stuff I could find in an average RPG Maker game. It's not good. The battle system is alright, but some of the other systems and translations are really confusing. I feel like this game never explains anything well enough. It also just moves along way too quick, which is good, I guess, since I really just want to move on to II, but it really kind of ruins things.

ಠಿ_ಠ

Also, been playing that Zelda game, you know, Wind Waker to the Past A Link Between Worlds. I'm enjoying it so far, although it leaves me with some questions. Like, if the Eastern Palace is really a palace, who lives there? Why has it changed so much? Why did the castle change so little on the outside, but so much on the inside? Did Ganon even die? Is Sahasarahla really still alive, or is he fated to reincarnate the same way Link and his friends do?

However, it does do a nice job of linking A Link to the Past to the more modern (OoT onward) Zelda universe. Like, I never knew those fish things were supposed to be Chu Chus. And I like how they explain that it was actually Link who broke up the Triforce and brought it back from the Sacred Realm to become part of Zelda, Link and Ganondorf. It's also cool to see Hyrule changing a little bit over time, although I would have liked to just a little more change. And is it just me, or does the overworld feel somehow smaller now than it did in aLttP?

Well that's not what I just do at work. During my lunch, mainly because me and other people (like Hyperlisk) are stuck there bored during it.

I agree. I think it might be one of two things:

1) Because everything is so similar so you're not really discovering much new.

2) Because everything is bigger than it was in aLttP except for the maps.

Haha, I was going to make almost this exact post, but about Persona 4. I'll just use this instead.

giphy.gif

Dat true ending, though.

Dialogue-heavy JRPGs are generally not my bag, but I'm so glad I invested the time. Even though I accidently spoiled the ending for myself, there were still plenty of twists I wasn't expecting, and the characters really made it for me. I don't think I've been this attached to video game characters since...I donno, Mass Effect comes to mind. If I had to make any complaints, it'd be that it can be a bit..."anime" and fanservice-y in a few parts, but not a big deal considering everything else works so well. Also, the dungeons could be a little more interesting. BUT, I donno. I loved it. I want more, so I'll probably play Persona 3 at some point, and the 50 or so spin-off games. I just wish it was on more things, since it's hard to recommend getting a vita just for one game.

I would be playing DA:I, right now, and technically, there's no reason I can't.

But PSN being down (Sigh, fucking DDoS piece of shit douchebags are my least favorite type of people) has killed my enthusiasm.

I've been following the progress of the Shantae games for a little while now, and I figured I ought to give the GBC original a try. I checked eBay only to find that it's now a rare collector's item, so I had to acquire it using...other methods.

It's on the 3DS virtual console, if you ever get another one of those things.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

Ooh, good to know. Even if I finish my other, completely legitimate copy (>_> <_<), I'll likely give it a download as a matter of good form.

I'm playing Final Fantasy 9 again.

I appreciate how much of a throwback to the classics this game is. Though I suppose it's already considered a classic?

Pokemon: Omega Ruby! The gf got Sapphire for Christmas so it was finally time to get the game. I found it used at a nearby Gamestop and reserved the copy - my pro discount + $10 off thanks to gamestop points made me a happy camper.

Not very far in; haven't even challenged the first gym. (GF and I are gonna battle after each gym, hopefully.) There are some new things in this game that I'm really enjoying, and it's at the same time a great throwback to the originals.

More Dragon Age: Inquisition and OOTP: 14.

But also, I 100% started and finished The Swapper. That's a really good game and you should all play it.

Playing the demo for Ponyvania: Order of Equestria. The custom character builder is pretty nice, but I fear this helpful NPC has burst my bubbles.

WWE 2k15 has been my game this week, following the conclusion of Dragon Age: Inquisition.

On Dragon Age - It is the single best game I have played in the past two-three years. It had a little of everything. My only complaint is minor. Most the side quests were fetch quests. But then again, that's not a problem with Dragon Age, so much as the entirety of the RPG genre. The lands you explore are expansive, beautiful, and full of things to do (except the Hissing Wastes, fuck the Hissing Wastes) and I put in over 120 hours on my playthrough. You could easily put in more if you were aiming to find all the bottles of thedas and mosaic pieces.

On WWE 2k15 - It is very barebones. I can't recommend it to anyone really. The best feature is the Showcase mode, but it's so short. The MyCareer mode is a nice addition, but is sooooo boring when you have nothing to do, which is 90% of the time. Character creation has taken a step back.
