I'm happy that Jesse's decision was to "get out" instead of something much worse. I still see his story coming to a sad end, unfortunately... but at least he showed that he is capable of making a rational decision in an impossible situation. Obviously I don't know Walt's plan yet, but I hope that Jesse agreeing with it doesn't prove me wrong. Based on that expression that Walt made at the end, I suspect that it will prove me wrong. God that was evil.

Walt admitting that it was about "empire" was a great way to put his character development in to as few words as possible.

It's funny, isn't it, that for all of the horrific things these people have done (Not the least of which was just making meth! I mean, really?), people still want to see them take the 5 million and walk off in to the sunset?

Fuck you Walt. Fuck you so hard. Fuck you for how you treat Skyler and Jesse. Fuck you for killing Mike. Fuck you and your little friend Todd. Fuck you so much I do no even like seeing you on the screen anymore.

You know what's going to happen? Since Vince Gilligan clearly does not give a shit about if people have anyone to cheer about of any kind of moment of happiness. Walt is going to win. He is going to have some pitiful horrible kind of win at the end of this show. And I am going to hate it so much.

But this show is still freaking fantastic. I love it.

It's so incredibly heart breaking to me that the only person Mike seems to even care for, he couldn't say goodbye to and had to abandon them. That is so fucking sad.

Walt is going to win. He is going to have some pitiful horrible kind of win at the end of this show. And I am going to hate it so much.

I think Walt's character is coming full circle here. He was at the top of his game with Gray Matter, but mucked that up somehow and never lived up to his potential again. He was at the top of his game at the beginning of this season, but now can't keep things together and will likely never live up to his potential again. That Walt that we watched kill Mike was not the confident Hisenburg we saw negotiating the deal at the beginning of the episode: it was Walt. No confidence, doubting his decisions, and not knowing when to shut up.

I wasn't saying I would hate the ending if it ended that way. More that I would just hate it. Not that I would think it's bad, I'd think it's great. But I'd still hate so much. If that makes sense?

And it's damn near perfect.

I hope it's like the end of Bad Lieutenant where all the loose strands get wrapped up in like, a two minute scene and everything works out fine for him.

I gotta say, I love this show for always surprising. It would have been so easy for this to be a "shit hits the fan" finale. I'm glad they didn't. I was so much more interesting, and leaves so many questions waiting for the next season. We already know that Walt uses Mike's get away kit (as shown in the opening scene), but there are so many possibilities now. Walt was found out because he failed the be the only thing he was good at, which was being careful.

Holy shit. Just holy shit.

I cannot wait.

Which is weird. Because aside from the awesome shanking scene, this episode was very quiet. Which is different from all the other season finales of Breaking Bad. I think what made it so good was how relaxed it became, and then Hank finally found Walt out. I loved that reveal. It had like Arrested Development callback-esque levels of awesomeness. It makes me wonder if that scene last season was planned or not.
