Been watching several things in succession, mostly with my older (by 12 years) brother. I had him watch season 1 of Tsubasa (which he found interesting), both seasons of Haruhi (which he loved), and most of Claymore (he keeps saying Rubel reminds him of Mr. Hand =p).

On my own, I just finished book 1 of Avatar. About a week or so ago I watched some of the DBZ movies, just to mark them off my list. Might watch Air next...so that I can continue putting off Negima...

finished Lovely Complex. the comedy was wonderful and everyone spoke in the kansai dialect which was pretty fun to translate and learn! for a shoujo, the characterizations were very well done (risa's facial expressions and thoughts make up a good portion of the comedy aspect) and the voice actors did a fantastic job. planning on picking up the manga sometime.

i've been avoiding watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann for the longest, just because of all the mass amounts of hype surrounding it..but now that i don't have my hopes up anymore, i plan on getting into it soon. additionally, i'm picking up another gainax show, Mahoromatic (after seeing a pretty badass clip from the show in which a girl dodges these huge missiles with relative ease). i know almost nothing about this show other than this clip, so i have almost no expectations here.

Dragonball Evolution was on TV, so I watched it with my brother. We agreed that it was positively horrid. He theorized that someone had been writing an unrelated movie script, then they got the rights to do a DB movie and tacked on some important names and whatnot.

I had to go get The World's Strongest and watch it immediately after to wash away all the fail sauce.

30 Rock was great tonight, even if it felt very...un-30 Rockish with its whole live show thing going on.

Still, I enjoyed the hell out of it. Both the West and East coast versions. (Tracy totally flubbed a line on the west coast airing, and it made me laugh a lot)

Egh...started Negima this evening. I tried to watch it in English at first, but I could only last a few minutes before switching to Japanese. Even then I could barely last through the whole first episode. It was painful. I kinda remember that it picked up a bit after the first few eps, so here's hoping it gets easier on down the line.

I can't believe I used to rant and rave about how wonderful I thought this show was. Still love the manga though.

Alright, I finished Negima earlier today, and it wasn't so bad after the first two or three episodes. Even the ending didn't feel like rubbish. The only real gripe I still have (besides the English voices) is the Kyoto arc; three volumes of the comic mashed into two episodes. <_<

Now I all have left to catch up on (for my DVDs) is Suzuka and the Air movie. Woo.

Every once and a while, I'll feel like rewatching a particular episode of a series. This time, I watched "Winter Night Phantom" from The Big O. Such a really sad episode..it gets to me every time.

I don't think I like the Japanese voices in DBZ. Except for a few super deep voices (I suspect King Enma is voiced by the same hard-to-understand bass voiced guy who played Shabranigdo in Slayers), almost all of them are too high pitched and occasionally effeminate.

Also I just checked, and Daisuke Gouri does indeed do both voices, plus stuff from loads of other shows.

DBZ is a show I would never watch in Japanese. Just because I find it hard to believe I watch it in English to begin with.

Recently finished Welcome to the NHK. It was moving and perverted. So, pervertedly moving I guess. But seriously, I enjoyed the conflicts faced by the characters. Quite depressing at some points.

Finally saw Prince Caspian last night since Voyage of the Dawn Treader was impending. It was fairly enjoyable. Not planning to see VotDT today, though, since I tend to avoid opening days, but we might go at a slower time like mid-Monday.

Tron, on the other hand, I might try to reserve tickets for since they just built what I'm told is the largest IMAX screen in the country in west Wichita~ ^_^

Verily I did see Dawn Treader mid-Monday (i.e., earlier this afternoon). Again, it was sufficiently entertaining, but things seemed to happen too easily, in general. I guess that's fine since it was aimed towards older kids, though.

Does anyone know if they're sticking with a trilogy or adapting any more of the books?

I am watching...

Dexter - Season 1 and 2 were soooooooo good. Season 3 has mainly been a bust, though. I'm almost over with season 3...and apparently season 4 is really good. All I know is I remember John Lithgow is in it. So it must be good.

Black Swan - Sooo good. Go watch it. Now now now now now. Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis have deh sex.

True Grit - Also pretty good. The acting is pretty superb. Plus, Coens...so...

Somewhere - Argh, overly pretentious and incredibly boring. I understand what's going on, and for what it wants to be it's kinda of perfect. But that doesn't make for a very watchable film.

I was going to give better reviews/blurbs but then I got lazy.

I just saw Salt. It was not as lame as I thought it would be, but was still kind of ridiculous. Angelina Jolie can kind of maybe act sometimes I guess.

^Nanaki actually posted! :O

I feel that I should mention I saw "Tangled" not too long ago and thought the animation and soundtrack were particularly lovely. Indeed, I even feel like rewatching this movie, a rarity for me. For those of you that saw this movie, how did you feel about it?

I'm planning on seeing Inception and Toy Story 3 sometime soon, perhaps this week. I'll update this accordingly.

Just got back from The Tourist. It only got 1 star in our local paper, and I would have to agree with that rating, but it was a thoroughly entertaining 1-star movie.

It also is rotten on RT.

Why would you even go pay money in the theatre to see it then?
