I found that same exact spot, Vicious. In the MP server I leveled off a viewing area to look at it one hill over. I like the map alot. Getting booted out randomly was my only prob. :)

Hey guys, I don't play much minecraft these days, but if you need a dedicated server for free I have a machine sitting in my closet for that exact purpose. :)

Server is down for the next 24 hours because I can't look at resolving the memory issues while I'm out of town visiting family. When I get home tomorrow, and if I have a healthy sum of moneys in my money hole, I'll purchase dedicated server space.

Thanks for the offer dhm but unless your server has heaps of memory, an awesome Internet connection, ftp access and Apache running I can see it causing more headaches than it resolves. On the other hand if your server does fit those requirements then that'd be pretty awesome.

Also I've seen that tree before too, it's quite a landmark. When I was collecting saplings for the spawn area I thought about chopping it down. I'm glad I kept it there now.

Thinking about it, I think the dedicated server we ran last time only had 1gb of RAM and that seemed to run fine. So maybe I could try fiddling with the memory allocation - I'm currently using the same settings from a different Minecraft server I ran 6 months ago on a 4gb machine.

It won't solve the issue of low bandwidth though.

Any chance SpazCat could be tempted into playing some more Minecraft? I really enjoyed playing with her on the old server.

Yes!! Tony was giving me a mini tour and I looked at the map. I will not be getting much done in the near future!!! Teehee.

So how do I do this thing?

• Load Minecraft
• Log In
• Click on 'Multiplayer'
• Click 'Add Server'
• Name it whatever you want. In the second box type the address for the server: 208.83.234.75:25565
• It will return to the previous screen. Wait for it to load, select it, and click 'Join Server'

Well, I'm hopelessly lost. I've erected an emergency shelter from dirt and wood. Did you say there was a map of the areas we've already discovered Bean? How do I access that?

It's not updated to what we've built, but it's pretty much what we're working with.

I checked the server logs and it seems like you were timing out. Not sure what was going on there... was it laggy when you were playing?

Also - I've updated my post on the first page so all the server information is easy to find for new players.

No, i didn't get booted, but like Bean said I did time out a lot. I'm not sure what the cause is. Thank you for thinking I was a gracious host. I was afraid I had lost you a few times.

I think it's similar to what was happening to me. It starts out being choppy- jumping from frame to frame... then it stops moving altogether. I have to log myself out after a second or two.
