You actually want money in Minecraft? Why not just designate an existing resource as currency? Hell, we could use golden nuggets.

I've heard that some servers have world exchanges with a currency. I would love that, personally.

I don't think we necessarily need money. If you don't want to search for diamond, you can always trade something to someone who is willing. I'd be fine either way on the money decision.

I just think we should setup the server as if it is public. Put some security in place. Then we can openly promote it and hopefully get more people.

Does it cost more to have a bigger server? Just curious why we have a 5 slot server.

Yeah, you have to pay for each extra slot. 5 is minimum and seems about right for our needs. Only about 2 or 3 times did we ever hit capacity.

In other news, over much whisky, I was reacquainted with an old school friend. He informed me of many marvellous feats he can perform with WorldEdit in Minecraft. I might steal some of his wisdom for when we move over to Minecraft 3.0.

Can we add the shelf and armor stand mods to the server? The server would have to be updated to 1.5 but these seem like great mods.

Can we please update the server? I'm having to switch back and forth between 1.4.6 and 1.5.1 because of the other servers updating.

NEWS!

 

I am currently in the processing of saving a copy of the Minecraft server to my harddrive. When it's complete I will wipe the server and update to the current version. I will also look into installing a few mods, but that might take longer. Normally dynmap gives me such a headache I lose enthusiasm for configuring other mods afterwards.

im looking to play this.. never played minecraft before.. even though i've owned it for like 18 months... any help for a newbie... also anyway that you can send me info for the server?

Also, we haven't updated yet, so you may not be able to play if you have updated today. If it asks you to update, just say "Not Now" until Bean says he's updated.
