You impress one again, I really liked that painting a lot. So much detail.

Nice! I really like the first one. The expressions are really well done.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

Thanks, guys! :D

To no one in particular, I do need feedback on one little thing in the pic of Mickey and Raisa, really. I showed the pic to SHE, who said that Raisa's nose was too big. Now, SHE tends to whine about noses all the time, both in my drawings and IRL, so it's entirely possible that she's full of it. What do the rest of you think? Is Raisa's nose too big, proportionally speaking? Mind you, I don't mean the shape of her nose (she's not supposed to have your atypical straight or ski-slope nose) and even SHE clarified that when I was talking to her (it was a surprise, actually, SHE complains about nose shapes as much as SHE does size).

Personally, I don't really care about the nose size, I think it looks fine, but there are a lot of times where I think something looks okay and then later I go 'huh. they were right, lookit that.' so, I'm just wondering whether people are inclined to agree with SHE and I may have messed that up or if SHE's just crazy.

I think it's just the shape combined with the angle that make it look kinda big, but really, the size of her nose is fine.

It's hard to say really, I mean the shape looks like it's supposed to jut out at the bridge a bit but it still seems a little large but that could just be a optical illusion due to her nose being so close to her lips.

hmm...It might be that I should have made her chin a smidge bigger and then placed the lips a little lower.

I honestly don't know I haven't really seen any of your drawings of her before I don't think.

I've only drawn her, like.... once before, I think? Both these guys are minor characters in the story, so I don't draw them much.

This is the only other picture of her with most of her other siblings (4th from the left) and here's she's only 13- while now in the story she's 20.

Okay looking at each I can see that her nose and mouth are supposed to be close together but in "Mickey and Raisa" her lips are much closer to her nose, there is almost no space, and when looked at just a glance it looks natural it's only when you take it all in and process each part separately together that her nose seems big, so my best guess is that you made it just a little too close, you get me?

I would agree that it's probably more the angle than anything else. That, and that curve you did at the top of the nose; it kind of separates the nose from the face and makes it feel larger than it is. I also agree on the mention that there's very little space between the nose and the lips...but that might just be because the lips are a bit too high up on her face in my opinion.

Also, Mickey's face seems a bit flat to me - that's actually the first thing I noticed when opening the picture. That flatness takes away a bit from the size/shape of his own nose, so when comparing the two as a reference point it makes hers look a lot larger (since it's not flat).

/my thoughts :p

Whelp, I finished a new series of pics recently. Wallpapers themed after mine, Kamau and SHE's books that we're currently writing.

Angel Myth, Kamau's wallpaper.

Aaand Dragon Maps, after my book.

Angel Myth is actually a part of this book, as well, but the two story lines have little to do with one another, so we tend to refer to them separately. These two wallpapers were meant to show the desks of Kaye (the character, not me) and Luna. Luna's showing class notes, a doodle and other assorted things, while Kaye's features wanted posters of her and her brother, as well as the titular Dragon Maps. The script featured in both of these (but primarily the Angel Myth wallpaper) actually says stuff, too! I stayed up forever working out the details of how it'd work a while ago, so I'm pretty happy with the end result.

Elementals, the final wallpaper, was made for SHE and themed after her own book.

You may notice the drastic stylistic difference between this one and the others, and thaaat's basically because I couldn't follow the same idea as I did with the previous two. I made the former two wallpapers as photo manipulations. With this one, I really didn't want to go that same route since I'm pretty damned out of practice with that stuff and never was all that experienced with it in the first place. Plus, the desk theme wouldn't work since I know very little about SHE's characters in comparison to my own or Kamau's. So, I decided to make the wallpaper a digital painting of a long forgotten altar, inscribed with symbols representing each of the ten elements in her story. I went with this idea mooostly because I know SHE likes archaic, overgrown ruins that looks especially pretty and a little magical. Personally, I'm pretty happy with this one- I've never painted moss or leaves like this, and I really like how I handled the texture of the stone. I'm sure it could be improved upon, but considering I rarely have the patience for this stuff, I like how it turned out. (also, it's sparkly and shiny)

New incentive to write a story: Get Kaye to draw stuff for it once there's actually stuff to be drawn for it.

I've seen the Arcane wallpapers before, of course, but HERS is new to me. I quite like the mildly impressionist greenery in that one.

It was amusing watching Kamau try to work out the script in her wallpaper.

Ooh, how does the language work? Is it just a letter substitution or is it more complex than that?

For the most part it's just letter substitution, but there are a few letters that I made up to represent certain sounds. Which I quite liked doing, so some time in the future I might work on the language more and base it entirely off of sounds, instead of substitution.

So, I did an art or two.

First is this one, a contest entry that one of the artists I watch on dA is holding.

Secondly is a quickly colored picture of some old lineart I did last year, of Carson. The coloring for this one really could have been better, but my tablet keeps giving me issues.

Sometimes it'll work wonderfully and I'll be able to crank out something like the Chara picture or the Elementals wallpaper- most of the time it turns out like this, with the tablet randomly disconnecting itself every 5-10 minutes or losing all pressure sensitivity and being unable to follow the pen's movements accurately. In short, I need a new tablet, I think. Not really sure what I'd get, though. Maybe another Wacom, but since this one was giving me trouble less than a year after buying it (although it's now about three years old, I think), I'm considering trying something different. I'm just not sure what tablets are as good for drawing a painting like I do. As far as I'm aware, Wacom is basically the art tablet. If any of you guys have any suggestions for things to look into, I'd totally appreciate it.

That dress is over-the-top. I cannot fully comprehend it.

I wondered if there might be some Carson when I saw that you had posted in this topic.

He does :D I love drawing Tejet clothing now that we have a settled style for them. There may be pictures of Lucian and Ishida in the future. But that said, i'll probably redo this pic sometime in the future. Either when my tablet isn't being a butt or when get a new one.

Also, over the top bad or over the top good, stars? Cuz I was worried that the design would be too busy, although I was trying to make it pretty fanceh.

Over-the-top neutral. I wouldn't call it overly busy. It looks like something a celebrity might wear. Take that as you will.
