At the moment the server still be mighty buggy. But hopefully things will be figured out. Can't wait to finish my labyrinth. Maybe incorporate some music blocks into that structure.

I just tried connecting with my laptop and had the same thing...
update: just tried a different build of the server and I can connect with my laptop now. Hopefully your connection problems should be cured as well.

Massive lag. I think it's on my side... Also, for some reason my inventory is completely gone. I spawned in someone's bunker and they were growing reeds indoors!! Crazy talk. I don't remember where I last played. Who's place was that?

Worst grand re-opening ever.
The inventory problem was because you hadn't logged in (I'm guessing you clicked "play offline" after failing to connect to the main minecraft servers)
Connection issues are more tricky. I'll play around with it some more when I get home tonight.
Looking at the logs, Toyz seems to have had the same problem, he crashed within a couple of minutes like you. Still not sure what's causing it but I've toggled some settings in in the hopes that it'll make some difference.
It's a shame because I've been doing a whole lot of exploring today. I followed what I think should be called "The Vicious Trail" and had a great time until I lost it and ended up wandering aimlessly in a desert. I also travelled East in search of Squid Monsters.

Only the windows firewall, and Minecraft should already be enabled in that (considering how much she has played online already).
