/>what is the context of that i don't even.
it's probably a matter of being used to it, but i found playing pc games with a ps3 controller a lot easier than with a 360 controller. the ps3 one contours to my hands better than the 360. it's too square, like the dreamcast controller, unless you're using a 3rd party.
Sorry, I have to disagree with you, the PlayStation family has the joysticks in the wrong place, it's just very unnatural to put your thumbs there to control everything. I don't know how they got away with it for so long, but it's just not right. I know it's because Sony added them as an afterthought when the first DualShock was made, but come on, they could have easily put the left joystick in the proper position. All controllers (Until the WiiU comes out) are better suited to fitting your hands than the DualShock.
Yeah, even N64.

Or, to put it more politely, "Neener neener."

/>I recently bought an X-Box controller for use on my gaming PC. Yes, appreciate the irony.
So far it works great with Assassin's Creed 2. Brilliantly great, in fact.
I tried playing playing it with Oblivion, with it, but no dice. It was ICKY! Though, that may be because Oblivion, for some reason, doesn't have native controller support and I had to use an external utility (XPadder). I just couldn't aim with my bow and arrow, and that's just unacceptable. I'm going to give Borderlands or one of the Fallouts a go to see how well they handle controller support, but I highly, highly suspect that I'll have to stick with the mouse and keyboard for first person games. As it should be.
If you're wondering, my inspirations for getting this were AC 2 and Super Meat Boy. Though I do have a couple of other piss-poor console ports that may benefit from the controller, namely Saints Row 2 and Bully.
Xpadder is a neat little program, but I've never been able to figure out how to get aiming to feel right. I'm guessing it might be because it treats a push of the joystick as a press of a button, rather than being able to move in the full 360 degrees. I don't know, it's been a while since I've used the program. I'm assuming, though, that if a game has native controller support it should feel a lot better, if still not quite as precise as good ol' mouse and keys.
Basically any 3rd person is a lot better with a controller, either way.
Edit: also you mentioned the two games I got you. :D ER-COUGH...your secret santa got you...

/>Yeah, I'm just used to the 360 controller, because our old roommate has one, and I've spent much more time with it than any version of the playstation. Does the PS3 controller use USB? Does it plug-and-play as easily as the 360 controller?
you have to use xpadder for it. it will connect/charge via usb, but it would be cheaper to get a ps2 controller, and the usb adapter. gamestop or walmart usually have both. the 360 controller is better for playing n64 games since ps controllers don't have enough buttons.
@lazlo- i have stubby hands and long gangleous fingers. the ps3 controller was perfect for borderlands, which utilized both the left stick for moving, and the dpad for switching guns. i always hated how in goldeneye you had to scroll through all your guns before you got the one you wanted.

Yeah, I think I could have tweaked the sensitivity some and made it work for Oblivion, but I was only mildly interested at the time./>Xpadder is a neat little program, but I've never been able to figure out how to get aiming to feel right. I actually take back what I said about it working brilliantly for AssCreed 2. Having the camera control separate from almost all of the action keys allows for more precision running, something that you can't do with a controller, since you have to use your thumb for both the face keys and the joystick.
So I guess it all boils down to controllers being more comfortable, but mouse and keyboard are still the most precise form of control. Go figure.
but it would be cheaper to get a ps2 controller, and the usb adapter.
I paid about $34 for the wired x-box controller, so I can't complain. Although for around ~$20, your suggestion seems like a good idea.

/>The thought of people selling, or starving, their children makes me sick.
when lindsay was in cambodia, some woman offered to sell her baby to her for $10. when i asked her why she didn't do it, she said the baby would probably get confiscated at customs.

B) The PS3 game is fully Level-5, only the DS version was made with Studio Ghibli. And both games are different from each other.
C) If Level-5 doesn't import these games I will FOREVER HATE THEM EVEN IF I TEND TO LOVE EVERYTHING THEY DO. HATE.
