I've been playing Dark Messiah: Might and Magic lately. And other than having to find creative solutions for some of the worst framerate issues ever, the game is fairly interesting. It is entirely too satisfying to be able to kick my enemies all around, rather than just thwacking them with my daggers until they die. Satisfying.

*getting more and more frustrated with this quest* If it wasn't so boring, I'd be fine, but NOOO...of course it can't be fun.

I don't have framerate issues with it, just CTD issues...
Still, kicking is quite fun, especially when things like bonfires or stairs are involved.

Got crysis to work on my $1 machine but loading areas after checkpoints or save points takes a while....not to mention the loading between game chapters, fricking 10 minutes wait....ah well.

Went to the store today to buy myself Devil may cry 3 for the PC, but having some trouble with my gamepad controls, I know how to get around it (by means of a gamepad configurator), but I need to sort out which button does what.

What game?

Etrian Odyssey. It's an awesome, awesome game...except for this one quest. Seriously, I've had more than my fair share of problems with this.

They want me to spend five full days (ingame time) inside a level of a maze (the entire game is based on this maze, and the levels in it). Sounds easy; alright, I'll do it. So I do. Only I found out that I had to wait until 5 a.m. in the game to start. Okay, I can do that too. I can just hang out in the inn and sleep until morning and then head out, right? Wrong. Sleeping 'till morning lets me sleep until 5, and it takes a few hours in the game to get to the level, so there goes that idea. Instead, I wait until evening, which ends up being about 6 p.m., and then wander until it hits 5 a.m. on the level I need to be in.

After messing that up a few times (by not getting to the level by five...there was even one time that I actually spent an entire day there, from 6 to 5, and then I realized that it didn't count), I finally got to the level by 5. I start wandering in the level to pass the time (since, sadly, you have to actually move around to make time pass), and what do I do? I accidentally click on the stairs to leave the level after a few hours. I did that twice.

Finally, I made it to the level on time, and I've been making sure not to click on the stairs or anything. I started the quest around 10 p.m. last night, and I stayed up until about 2 (partially to watch a movie, and partially because I had been hoping to finish the quest). 4 hours real time I've put into this quest, and there are no quicksaves/save spots in the level I'm at...And I was only on the third day by the time I closed my DS cover (to conserve power, as it doesn't shut the game off) and plugged it into the charger. I'm going to have to continue working on the quest when I get home from school today. >.>

If I ever express an interest in buying this game, give me a virtual slap in the face and remind me of this quest.

Fair enough. Can't say I've never done anything similar.

Also, I'm back to not needing a 360 thanks to this.
I didn't think it deserved a whole new topic, but I guess I'll probably be playing it a few months, so it's almost on-topic...kinda...except, not really.

Wow, Mass Effect for PC. Huh. o.o

Now I dunno if I want to get the 360 version! I dunno about everyone else, but Mass Effect just SEEMS like a 360 game to me. That's because it came out on 360 first, hurrr, but it seems more suited to that than a PC. I'll have to decide which version I want to pick up now! Damn you, Bioware!

Mass Effect is pretty awesome (I've played the entirety of the game on the 360). I like the idea of a PC version, and may get it if it's available on steam. Anything to make navigating the menus easier (point and click..yay) would improve the game.

As for the rest? Eh. The lines between console and pc are marginal these days.

I've seen a lot of people complain about how much of a hassle it is to switch between different biotic powers, and you can hotkey those now, so that's another plus.

Tell them to shove it, cuz it's not hard at all.

When you hold the right bumper button, the game would pause and the biotic menu would come up. While still holding it, and being paused, you could aim and choose a target (not necessarily an enemy), and then have to biotic hit there. You could do multiple biotic or tech powers before releasing the button and resuming the game. It works incredibly well when you get used to it.

The only problem with it is that when you're zoomed in with a weapon (or maybe just the sniper rifle), and you hit the power button, the game doesn't pause. I don't know what purpose that serves, but it annoyed me more than once. Maybe that was their problem? Crazies.
