Just finished Ready Player One. It was a lot of fun, and I recommend it to anyone who appreciates 1980's pop culture of any kind (but especially video games).

Just finished reading Wild Rover No More, the last in the Bloody Jack series. It has some high points, but a lot of low points. Luckily, the climax and resolution was generally good, so I don't feel too bad by the end of it- it's just... a lot of the middle stuff that I have a problem with it. Which kinda makes the book unsatisfying.

Finished Masters of Doom, which is the history of the two core founders of id Software and the creators of Doom. Great look into the development of the video game industry for computers. A lot of other people and stories from the time also get thrown into the mix. It is neat how certain things are interconnected that you would have never expected. And so weird to think that Apple computers were the preferred platform for playing video games. How times have changed.

Reading Peace, Love, and Liberty by Dr. Tom G. Palmer. It's a collection of academic essays about war and the practical prevention of it.
We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

Started with Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power by Rachel Maddow. It's about the US military expansion and rush into armed conflict and the development of the military-industrial complex since Vietnam. It's an interesting read so far and she has a first-hand account being in a military family.

Finished reading Turnabout by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Or re-reading, I should say. It's one of my favorite books and I reread it every time I can't remember all the details. XD I finally bought myself a copy when I stumbled across it at the bookstore!
Going to debate between the next Star Wars book in that series I was reading before (I found it!) or Wild Rover No More when I next have time to read...

Getting caught up on my backlog of comics. Currently reading volume 2 of My Little Pony: Friends Forever, a collection of one-shots featuring different pairs of characters. I just finished one involving Pinkie teaching Luna how to be funny. I've also spotted a goat eating a "Season Five Script," and I do not approve of this behavior.

I happened to come across a bunch of free books recently, and I've been reading through them on the way to work, occasionally crashing into walls because I don't care to look up.
Lately I've been reading Go No Rin Sho, a survey of war/life strategy as applied to Kendo fighting technique. Maybe it's just because it was written 400 years ago in another language, but it's pretty hard for me to get my head around all of the concepts.
And that's fun.

Finished Pokemon Adventures: FireRed & LeafGreen. Emerald should start coming out soon, and I believe that's the last arc they need to catch up on. (Diamond & Pearl and HeartGold & SoulSilver were already released in English, and Black & White has been going on for a while now.)

So far Lord of Chaos isn't filling me with hate, although a thing was very vaguely foreshadowed that I suppose might end up being terrible? I guess I'll find out when I get there.
Took a break from that to get caught up on Fairy Tail, which is always fun. Also got the next volume of My Little Pony the comic. There haven't been many big, adventurous stories since the first two arcs, but the smaller stories are still very enjoyable.

I didn't read even half as much as I wanted to last year, so it'll be interesting to see if I can pick that up again.
The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

I've started on The Secret History of Star Wars. I'm loving the pre-Star Wars information right now, especially the samurai films that inspired Lucas. It's neat to read about all of the characters and plots from initial scripts and seeing what stayed, changed, and got cut. Surprisingly one of the oldest scenes that survived all iterations of the script was a bully getting their arm cut off in a tavern by a laser sword.
Looking back through the recent posts I'm going to have a look for Ready Player One for my next read. I love the cultural history of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. It's just so rapid.

Just finished Against the State by Lew Rockwell. I have to admit, this book has shaken the foundations of minarchism for me. I'm teetering on that famous Libertarian edge. Minarchism or Anarcho-Capitalism? Which is the answer? I don't know anymore. Overall, a wonderful book, but I felt it was really unorganized in the middle chapter. I had been warned of it though thanks to the Tom Woods Show.

Finished Lord of Chaos. I quite liked it, and I'm having trouble figuring which part was supposed to nearly ruin the series.
Likely going to move on to A Crown of Swords soon.

Do audiobooks count? Cuz in that case I've listened to The Assassin's Curse, The Pirate's Wish and The Summer Knight. All were fun.
