Got to the end of OITNB. Very satisfying show. I like it a lot, I love that it's an ensemble show too, I seem to like those the most (Arrested Development, Game of Thrones, Venture Bros, Monster...).

If you haven't watched it you should.

Marathoning Death Note with my brother. I'm impressed that they managed to keep it visually interesting despite the entire story being talk-talk-talk-talk.

Has anybody else watched Guardians of the Galaxy yet? It's pretty amazing.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

We almost did on Friday, then we realized that we never watch movies the day they come out.

I did see it on Friday and I was expecting the worst for the crowds. I saw Frozen three bloody weeks after it came out on a Thursday and the only seat I could get was the first seat in the first row. Arrive at the Lego Movie 30 minutes in advance and we had to change tickets to the next show because there were no 3 seats next to each other. Went to Captain America: Winter Soldier 45 minutes in advance and it was packed within 10 minutes of me getting there and I had to fight to save seats for friends. Then I go to Guardians of the Galaxy 30 minutes in advance and....

The movie starts with the front half of the theatre empty. WTF!

Movie was awesome though.

That might be because it looks like it appeals to only a specific audience. I imagine it'll fill up more now that people have seen it and are returning touting its awesomeness. (I haven't seen it yet, and I don't think I'll have time to get out there and watch it in theaters, but I'm sure I'll see it eventually.)

The gf and I finished binge-watching season 1 of Arrow the other day. It's amazing. I want season 2 to get on Netflix this instant.

And then yesterday I fiiiiinally finished bingeing season four of MLP. Overall, I enjoyed the season (minus one or two episodes which were not-as-much). Some of the songs were a bit of a stretch but I very much liked both songs in the finale (and wish the finale song had an extra chorus or two, since it ended too quickly!). Super-saiyan mode was the stupidest thing I'd ever seen though.

I went and saw Guardians of the Galaxy with SHE and Wendy. I admit I didn't really care about seeing it at first. I didn't like Rocket from the ads, I just kept thinking 'either he'll be a neat character or the most annoying thing in it.' I didn't really get what the deal with Groot is, and over all, it just seemed too sci-fi for my tastes. But SHE really wanted to see it and I knew judging the movie on just a few small aspects was kinda stupid, so I figured I'd give it a chance.

In the end it was pretty okay. It wasn't bad by any means, it was funny and I really liked the characters, but I just kinda feel like 'okay, it wasn't a waste of money, at least'. It just felt like the movie was very formulaic. Nothing in the movie took me by surprise, so I never felt like I could take the stakes seriously. I kept expecting it to break away from the mold, even just for a moment, but it never did. Though, that said, I feel like it was just meant to set the stage more than anything. I wish it did a little more, but it really wasn't bad, either. Hopefully the second one will do a lot more now that they have the characters all introduced and together.

The rewatching of Digimon has begun.

(Technically, it began yesterday. The gf came home, saw what was on the tv, and gave me the biggest '...really?' look. ...And then proceeded to sit down and watch it with me.)

Well I'll be getting around to see Great Teacher Onikuza soon. Hopefully.

Finished season three of Community this afternoon. I've been warned that there's a big dip in quality in season four, but I refuse to be pessimistic about it.

Don't be. There are some good moments. There is only one truly bad episode. Then there's season 5, which was brilliant.

I finally got around to watching both seasons of Hannibal, and damn. That is definitely a show. I'm not super familiar with the movies or how much it sticks to canon, but I really can't wait to see where it goes from here.
