I've now watched all three Iron Man movies.

We watched 3 in bits, and it's a testament to how much I ended up caring about the movie when I had to ask Tara if we'd finished it (and she said no).

Also, I don't think I've mentioned this (to anyone but Tony; not that anyone else would care, I think?) but I got Tara interested in Alias and we're up to season 2.

I'm also on the fourth (and final) disc of season 1 of Sailor Moon. :) The episodes are starting to pick up a bit, though I'll admit some of the bad guys' plans could use a lot of work. Haha.

Spaz and I went to see Edge of Tomorrow, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

I recently heard the analogy of someone practicing a video game for a speed run to describe that movie. Accurate?

In some parts. I think playing Dark Souls would be a better comparison.

So it's a Tom Cruise sci-fi...but it evokes Dark Souls... Yeah, sure, I'd watch that.

Randomly remembered to check on this after reading your post. Apparently the Sailor Moon reboot (Sailor Moon Crystal) premiers in a couple weeks on mah birthday.

I watched all of Silicon Valley within a day. Pretty good. If you like Mike Judge stuff it's worth watching.

So I watched a good bunch of movies, actually.
I saw the new Star Trek with the frat-boy Kirk, which I didn't like, but I am not really a Star Trek fan so I have no precedent.
I saw The Other Guys with Will ferrel and that Mark guy. It was okay, but it was like the script writers were 13 year olds trying to fit in foul language whenever they could.
I saw Iron Man 2/3 and they were meh, I mean, we all know he lives, kicks some ass, and gets the puss.

Finally, I saw Non-Stop on AT&T on Demand. I personally didn't like it, I feel they weaved too much plot in with a tad bit of too  much cliche machismo guy. I mean, it couldn't be any more cliche *SPOILERS* he is seen in the beginning drinking what looks like whiskey in the beginning of the movie and tries to come as mysterious, which fails. Instead the main character comes off as a cliche-guy who of course lost a family member, did some stuff, saw some shit, and now no one trusts and they get proven wrong.

So far on my vacation:

Watched all of Last Comic Standing so far this season. It's kinda lame but is the only reality TV show I've really ever liked that wasn't about food (which is the one true reality).

Then I watched an episode of Kill La Kill and it was okay but I don't think I'm very interested. I'll maybe watch an episode or two more and see.

Now I'm watching Orange is the New Black. It's pretty good. I feel like this show is what Weeds should have turned into (maybe it's just because this is also one of Jenji Kohan's show.)

Why is it so hard to find commonly liked TV series between people? Since she absolutely doesn't care for Futurama (idiocy) or Archer (can feel the IQ dropping), I'm out of good series to show Jackie. She has me watching Kyle XYMerlin, and Once Upon A Time. I can't say I'm really into any of them, but at least they are entertaining. I did get her to watch the pilot of Arrested Development and she said that was okay but predictable. It's really unfair that she's LMFT and knows how to read people.

Oh, and I've been watching The Boondocks on my own.

Try Sherlock. If you two can't share that, then maybe you shouldn't watch TV together.

Futurama has some pretty complex ideas, and how is Arrested Development predictable and none of those other shows aren't?

Gross.

I am glad I have a girl I can sit down and watch The Simpsons with.

Predictable in the way the characters interact. Jackie is a therapist and is very good at reading people.

I know she loves Sherlock and I shall inquire about The Simpsons (only seasons 1-10, of course).

Watched the first episode of Sailor Moon Crystal. Also watched an episode of Golden Balls because Radiolab aired an episode about it the other day when I had to go b get milk that interested me a lot in the little bits I heard.

Also jumping back between Orange is the New Black and Fruits Basket (since what Bee saw at anime expo interested her and I have always really liked it, and still do on this rewatch, for the most part.)

And whenever they air: Last Comic Standing and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

Spaz and I watched the first two episodes of Knights of Sidonia on netflix. We probably won't be watching any more. It wasn't necessarily bad, but it did a really poor job, in our opinions, of setting up the characters and the world. It also has a very Attack on Titan vibe in my opinion, which, in the first two episodes, was a better show.

That's disappointing. I read something about it somewhere recently, I think AV Club? It piqued my interest, and was probably going to check it out once I finished Orange is the New Black or give up on my very very slow going of Kill La Kill.

Oh well, maybe I'll finally start The Wire after OITNB.
