Forgot to say earlier that I went to see X-Men: Days of Future Past with my cousin when I was there over the weekend. It was about what I expected.

Speaking of seeing things, Tara and I saw Maleficent the other day. There were a few points that I thought were silly/the characters could have been smarter, but the effects were really good and the retelling was a nice change. I'd say my biggest complaint lies in that there was no twist that I didn't anticipate ages before it happened (though that may just be due to movies I've already watched that take similar approaches). But I give it an 8 and would probably watch it again (just not at the theater).

Watched The Heat with Jackie. I highly recommend this comedy. It had me in side-splitting laughter with antics from Sandra Bullock and more importantly Melissa McCarthy. I think the bottle of wine we shared also had something to do with that.

Kill La Kill

I thought it was amazing. First and foremost it is fun and enjoyable to watch. There are a bunch of deeper elements that are hinted at or only briefly examined, and I liked that. There is something to be said about letting the viewer piece things together or come to their own conclusions, instead of going "HEY, THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE OF THIS AND THIS IS DRAMA!" I think a great example of this is exactly why the sailor outfit the main character wears is so fanservice-y. There are a couple of scenes that suggest the reason and then a single line that confirmed my thoughts. No over the top explanation or overly involved reasoning that tries to be too serious or too over the top. Knowing why the outfit is like that is not central to the plot, so they just sprinkle clues about the reasons.

I simply loved the series and I am only sad it is over. It's like a great book series like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings: one of the reasons its great is that it comes to an end. Unlike say Naruto or One Piece or Final Fantasy.

I've been meaning to watch Kill La Kill since the Super Best Friends were hyping it up during its entire run. And because it's made by the same studio that did Gurren Lagann.

I can finally say that I've seen Iron Man, and I'm halfway through Iron Man 2. Yay for library rentals!

Mickey Rourke was the star of Iron Man 2 for me. I think that's the reason that they made him into a more silly villain. Apparently he wanted a more serious and complex villain to play, then script/editing changes.

Yeah, I just watched it again today and the plot is pretty solid it just feels slightly... off for most of the movie, I don't know it's just kinda weird.

It was uncovered, you say? Why did you cover it up? Was it cold?

Was someone like "Ohana!" and you were like "What in the world does that mean?"

Because I feel like that's a pretty big indication that you have not watched Lilo and Stitch.

Bee and I watched Wolf Children a few days ago. It was really cute (whole reason Bee wanted to watch it, because the cover looked cute), a bit cliched, and I feel like some stuff at the end happened that was just kinda dumb/out of character. But it didn't ruin the movie for me, just stuff I disagree with.

Also watched some season 1 of Louie.

When I had people over for board games last week, we started talking about our favorite Disney movies, and someone brought it up.
