And continuing on today...

Sweet Lily Dreams is an RPG Maker game I got in a Humble Bundle. It's not my flavor, but it does look nice, and it's customized enough that I wouldn't have guessed it to be RM.

Pid is another game that I think I got in...an Indie Royale? I had no idea what sort of game it was, but it turned out to be a reasonably interesting platformer.

Setting aside Steam, I decided to finally get back to my PS3 and start the Ratchet & Clank Collection. Feels weird going back to the beginning of the franchise after being introduced to it with the Future series. It feels old, but not to the point that I'm not enjoying it. Going to try sticking with these for a while.

(I'll get back to my Final Fantasy stuff eventually. I just...don't enjoy III as much as I thought I would.)

I played a lot of Punch Club lately. It's good, but it gets repetitive/frustrating and I wish it was more fleshed out.

I don't think I'm going to beat it, but I believe I got close to the end.

Trips!

Oddly, though, I still have my rating, but my overall win-loss count has vanished.

Trips be trippin'.

I'm making good progress in to Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, finally. It's pretty good. I don't have any big opinions about the game, but I like it well enough.

Completed Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. It was an alright game. I don't know if I would recommend it, but it sure does have some fancy environments that are worth a look if you ever pick it up for cheap. Sadly one of the unlock able extras turns the game's otherwise perfectly likable female lead in to a "sexy robot" version of herself, which... just... ugh.

And the more I think on it, the more I really disliked the game's ending. And it started out with such promise...

First impressions of X-Com 2 after ~2.5 hours of game time:

  • Man, I like turn based combat.
  • In the beginning, the new characters actually feel like they might be real characters, unlike the ones from Enemy Unknown. I hope the game keeps this up. And there is a surprise or two in them, as well (I won't spoil it, but the game does not take long to get to it all)
  • The music design is really, really nice so far. Similar to Enemy Unknown, things are pretty quiet until aliens are revealed, and then it ramps up. I don't know if I just notice it at particular moments, but the music always seems to be very heroic at exactly the right moments for me to feel pretty awesome.
  • There are some friggin' surprises that the enemies pull that can really make you panic in the moment, and make you want to kill them all the more when the surprises give the enemy an advantage.
  • I feel like I am missing the enemies a lot more than in Enemy Unknown, even with similar hit percentages. It could just be that the game is designed to be more difficult, or I'm just having a bad case of RNG. Not sure.

I'm liking it so far.

Rereading my comment on the music, turns out I'm not the only one who noticed it! Apparently there are all sorts of other subtle touches, too!

Pokemon Alpha Sapphire has been taking up all my time.

I did however pick up Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4... so that might change, even though gamestop fucked up my pre-order.

I got that for my xbone.... it seems to be a lot more dialogue heavy than the others... but that might just be my imagination

Maybe, i think the whole... I've never played smash so let's play a game that h as the same mechanics as smash kinda doesn't help... I'm like that kid that sometimes wins with items on or something...

On a brighter note i platinumed Fifa 16 on my ps4 in a week... is there any hope foy my humanity left now.

I was in Gamestop to buy Funko Pop figures for Bee's sister in law. The girl at the register asked if we played games (which is funny because I was wearing a Persona shirt) and asked about Fire Emblem. I said yeah, I preordered it but Best Buy didn't ship it, and then she went on a rant about how bad she felt since no one could get the game and blah blah blah.

Anyways, I'm not playing Fire Emblem Fates because ugh BB+Nintendo. Hopefully it ships soon. I did get free $20 out of it though.

Got my second ever imported game in the mail yesterday: Hikaru no Go 2.

Not sure if it's just been a while since I last played go or if it was because I was multitasking, but I was starting to get a headache after not very many games.
