Which is probably the biggest complaint about difficulty settings in video games. Rather than having enemies become smarter on higher difficulties, they just get massive pools of health. More often than not, it just turns the hard difficulties in to boring slogs.

They've got you too, eh?
I kinda got tired of watching Rose power through a level instead of exploring it. To be honest the levels may be limited as far as where you go, but the places you can go are beautiful and sometimes quirky. Overall it is fun. I can switch characters whenever I want. I should post a picture of all the Skylanders Rose has.
is the nightmare mode actually difficult? i picked skyrim back up and set it to legendary difficulty. all that's different is the enemies have more health and attack and armor, but they're still dumb as rocks.
If it's anything like the 'hard' they claim I'm on likely no. I have noticed there are more enemies, but I suspect the health ratio is about the same.

Skylanders came first, but yes. They're virtually the same. Their action figures are about $3 more too. Likely due tot he name 'Disney' being on them. Both games are about selling toys...

The less popular (but still fun) sequel Final Fantasy X-2: HD.

Played some Windwaker HD and Kid Icarus: Uprising today.
I kind of bought Kid Icarus only because it was cheap, but darn, I am enjoying it a lot. It's a lot different than what I was expecting and it's a lot of fun. I like the banter between Pit/Palutena as well, helps flesh out things but in a way that's not just me staring at a screen watching people talk.
Only downside is the control scheme kind of sucks. I feel like it'd be better suited if I had an XL though (or on the Wii U...)
Also Mario Kart 8. All of the times.

Despite having a very obviously default RPGMaker battle system, Cthulu Saves the World is a pretty fun game. But god fighting monsters is so boring and pointless.

Bee and I...borrowed (I guess?) Super Mario 3D World from our local library. So that.
It's fun, I like it a lot. A bit on the easy side though buuuuut it's fun exploring to find all the stamps/stars.

That's a cool library, letting you borrow video games.
My library only has boring books :(
Final Fantasy X-2 HD has consumed my life this week. I'm actually getting pretty close to finishing Chapter 3 in the story. It's made me realize a few things.
One of the things I've realized is that the game is really incredibly short. I've only put in about 30 hours of play time, but I've already beaten about 50% of the game counting side quests. And a good amount of that time was spent dicking around. As long as X was, X-2 is sooo short. I like it like that though, because it prevents it from feeling like a boring slog.
Also, I like the music... :D

A buddy of mine brought over his shiny new tablet loaded with XCOM, which filled me with jealous rage over all of the amazing turn based adventures he could have on the toilet, so in response I of course started playing XCOM again. This time, however, I'm trying some of the "Second Wave" options, which completely change the way the game is played.
Specifically, I turned on "Not Created Equally" which gives random starting stats to rookie soldiers.
"Hidden Potential" which increases stats randomly when a soldier is promoted.
"Marathon" which makes the game last considerably longer, and hella hard in the first few months.
And my favorite so far, "Training Roulette" which makes the skill tree for a soldier mostly randomly generated, including adding skills from other classes. For instance, my best medic at the moment is a heavy that coincidentally picked up a lot of other helpful, supporting skills. It certainly makes your soldiers feel more unique than the standard system.

Still bits of Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8.
Started Xenogears on my Vita, since I have never played it before. Kinda slow though, and then I met Lucca and I was like screw this game and started playing Chrono Trigger DS (which I got for my birthday).
Also finally got to Happy Happy Village in Earthbound. Which makes me happy. I consider everything before getting Paula kind of an annoying grind with just Ness. From this point forward, if I remember correctly, the game starts to pick up the pace since I don't have to spend so much time grinding.

Earthbound is great. I wish I could have finished it. When I played it, I got super close to the end and, due to the fact that it was well into the night and I was half-asleep, when the rom froze, I saved over my previous save state. :(
We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

That sucks. Earthbound is an especially hard game to get back into too, because everything can just be so grueling if you're not properly equipped/leveled. I know I've quit it a few times just because I couldn't take it anymore. I still love it for it's charm and how unique it is, but the gameplay/difficulty is not its strong point.
