Maybe get a survey on it. I'm not really a sports fan and I don't watch regularly. Only the big big games, especially those involving a local team.

This forum?

Sports topics? AHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHA

Anyways, had my official birfday celebration on Saturday. I got a pair of headphones and the iPad Mini. You know, even though it was likely an opportunity buy, I had a 32 Gb First Generation iPod- which I gave to my brother- (I got the 16 Gb model), and they could've found one for a lot cheaper on Craigslist, I'm not complaining. (Even though it sounds like I am) I mean, hey, a present is a present, and it shows that my parents do care, even if they are occasionally shitty from my point of view. I mean, part of me is still wondering if they did it so I would have more of a reason to stay here, but whatever. I also got a Patriots cake that no one ate because we were just TOO DAMN FULL.

My parents are pretty good. They may shove our family skeletons into the closet with a fury, and they can be fucked up as any dysfunctional family, but they do care.

That's all you really can ask for.

ALSO GO PATRIOTS WOOO YAY

Broncos are probably going to win though. ;n; Blount pls

I wouldn't be opposed to a sports topic.

I don't even really care if I'm the only one to use it.

I feel like I'm talking to myself about them 90% of the time anyway.

Sports are like... my thing.

Ok, start one up. I'll pin it. Make it a general sports ball topic, or something. Kind of like this one.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

People take you seriously when you turn 32.

Come to think of it, my brother turns 40 later this year, and we still don't take him seriously.

Though he might be a special case.

Yeah, well, that's just your brother. Then again, I don't much take any of your siblings or in-laws very seriously.

Even if he is a special case, my sister is 34 and I certainly don't take her seriously.

Really, I think the only ones who take adults seriously are young children.

yeah but my highschool latin teacher was 26, was making a boatload of money, for a teacher, and still would up divorced and an alcoholic by 28. special cases are the people that get lucky and stay lucky.

other news: the standard deduction for 2013's federal taxes sits at $6100 for filing as a single person with no dependents, which is about $400 more than last year. i found out today that ADP, who does most of the payroll accounting and paycheck delivery for most places, can cut you a paycheck without any federal taxes withheld. this year im going to have them give me the first $4000 of federal taxes so next year i won't get a refund, but will have gotten to keep that money from having to go through that holding period of going in and out of the reserve.

Yeah, if you have to end up owing a bit it's really better than getting a refund because even if you just sat on the extra money you might get a little interest from your savings account.

I learned this from my dad, the world's largest tightwad.

I know it may sound odd, but I'm glad that Lily came early. Her due date was Jan. 4th of this year and she came on Dec. 19th of 2013. We now get to deduct her for the entire year of 2013. I know there's likely to be a scale out there that balances it out come next year, but whatever.

The first time VP and I added Rose to our taxes we nearly fainted from the increase.

What? No.

I wish it was paid off right away. Rose was born Jan. of 2010. We had that bill until 2012. We paid monthly with no interest due to it being a medical bill. My parents paid it off for us.

Lily's bill will likely be paid off far sooner due to her being born last year. Lily's bill was also nearly half of what Rose's was. This is mostly due to us having better insurance this time around. It also helped that I waited to go to the hospital right away, checked in online before her birth, had most of the paperwork done, and left asap. Less stress all around.

Hospital bills are ridiculous. Other than the actual birth the most expensive part was the anesthesia. Without that I would have surely killed someone. My pain tolerance is less than stellar.

Sound legal advice from a law student who graduated high Scholl with no honors: Just pay $50 a month on the hospital bill. Or $5. They may threaten, but there's nothing they can do.

Well, it sounds like you have the situation under control. I once got into a car crash with my father and dear Jesus the bill. Money makes the world go round.

That sounds awful and I can only imagine that bill. I get that the majority of my bill is medicine and laboratory work, but it still seems high. Found out later that the hospital tried to bill my insurance twice for nearly the exact same things. They double faxed over the stuff they did. It gave me a heart attack. One day we only owe X amount. Next day we suddenly owe XXXX amount! I got it all figured out. Holy hell that was scary.
