You're thinking about this wrong. You can't force yourself to see the color change. Even in Spaz's post, it doesn't really look like that (at least the Blue/Black thing). (EDIT: NVM, that last picture in that article shows it perfectly, at least to my eyes)

It's something to do with your eyes. When the color changed for me/Bee the first time it was just me refreshing my browser. You can't force yourself to see it no matter what you do. :P

It doesn't make sense until you see both versions of it with your own eyes, because it's very obvious what the difference is when it happens. Now if I only understood why, I'd like to see the Blue/Black again.

On the topic of the dress, the lighting is absolutely horrible in the picture.

That said, I can't see it as anything but white and gold, and people have spammed this stupid picture to me all day.

I've seen it about a thousand times on my PC, my phone, and on my TV screen.

Each time, it's appeared as white and gold.

This is so stupid.

I think it's pretty interesting how your eyes can deceive you like that.

But you'll never "get it" if you don't actually see it change for you.

It freaked me out that I seemed to not know which colors this dress really was. I work in the Paint department now. If I can't get a damn dress right have I been giving terrible advice to my customers?! Mini panic attack.

I can't say it ever freaked me out, even when I did see it as blue and black. It's just how light affects color perception.

Also: the reviews.

Yeah, I finally saw the blue and black version of the dress, and it's clear that this is being made a bigger deal of than it should be.

The difference between the two pictures I saw was all in the lighting. I've seen stuff like this before, I once took a picture, and distorted the light, and my skin was rather purple, rather than the pale I actually am.

Now, hopefully people on the internet will stop talking about it. There are more important things to think about, like the death of Spock and how the net is saved for the time being.

It turns out my grandpa worked for the FBI in Alaska in the 50's fucking up Russian spies posing as prostitutes. He was a paid government arsonist, and then worked as a stooley.

Signed up for a site/app called HabitRPG. This is pretty much exactly the kind of app I wanted to develop on for working out, but this is actually better because you can use it for a bunch of stuff to get into the habit of. Since I went to the dentist yesterday I added brushing my teeth and flossing to daily tasks. Either I will stun my dentist in 6 months, or my character will have died several times.

Let me know if any of you guys check it out. You can create questing parties to fight bosses with. I think it sounds like a great way to form good habits with group reinforcement.

I might check that out later. There's an Android app, and I need to find ways to motivate myself (part of why I'm also doing my challenge blog, I feel it will help make me more active and actually do the things I need to).

The problem is this. I'm kind of stupid. I don't know quite what tasks I "need" to do. I wonder if I could somehow add running to the list of activities, because it'd be nice to be rewarded for it beyond being healthier.

Curious idea. Surprised it didn't exist before this.

An interesting idea. I went ahead and downloaded it, and I'll take a look when I get off work or have some down time.

For me, it's convenience. I always have my phone on me, I can't say the same for my laptop.

Sure, I could access the site on my phone through the web, but what's the point if you can get there in less clicks and is on an application that is optimized for mobile devices?

I went to Fire Island and saw harbor seals lounging in the bay today. Then I went Oceanside and collected sea shells. There were tons of surf clams and moon snail shells. Mostly clams. Found some bay scallops, blue mussels, and oysters, too.

I also saw the ridiculous beach houses they have way out East by west hampton. >:/ Three stories for a freaking beach house is stupid.

opening friday and i'm still ad-libbing half my performance. the director was half joking with me thursday, after i drunkenly facebooked him last wednesday to talk about the characters and the play, and i said "wow this would be a really good sitcom" (this was around noonish for reference, it was character research)

i go into rehearsal yesterday, and he's like "now i wanna make this a webseries, i was thinking about it all weekend" so then i'm all like "well, i was up til 2am friday morning writing *this* and i hand him my notebook, which has about 8 pages of the fanfiction-level sequel i started writing. he looks at it, and then starts telling me what he wants in it. now i have my bullet points, and i'm pulling all my jokes from everywhere to put into it. i've never written a play before, or a script for that matter, but after being in one and watching everyone bring their characters to life, it's a lot easier to look at the paper, know who has to talk, and exactly what they need to say to get a laugh or move the story forward.

So here I am at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. I get to train and hang out with Taekwondo athletes and coaches for a few days. I guess that means I'm officially an amateur athlete now. What does one say at a moment like this?
Maybe something like:
"TAKE THAT EVERYONE IN ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL WHO EVER MADE FUN OF ME! I'M AN ATHLETE NOW!"

I guess that's been on my chest for a while.
