i had to pay a bogus ticket today. i got pulled over last week for the heinous crime of driving a shitty car in a nice town. supposedly, i need to buy a brand new sticker two months after renewing my sticker because i moved. i'm out $35 because illinois is broke, and won't just link the address on my license to the plate on the car it's registered with.

so i go there, and the dead eyed woman there tried to tell me i couldn't pay the ticket without the actual ticket. can you imagine what a judge would say if i actually tried that defense? i should just start losing all my tickets, fuck it i'm not responsible. sorry your honor, that couldnt've been me, that guy's the one with the ticket.

So, I was going to be transferring to this big art school in the fall, but it looks like that's not happening because I'm too poor- even while taking advantage of every kind of aid and scholarship I had available to me, it still doesn't cover the cost, so it looks like I'll be sticking with the college I've been attending.

 

Which isn't totally bad, I like the school, it just isn't going to amount to much for my future on its own, hence why I wanted to transfer. Though the real down side is that I have to last minute register for classes, which leaves some pretty undesirable options. I've been able to make it work for the most part, but... I... I might have to take a modern dance class for my PE credits.

 

Edit: I can take Italian instead! Ahahaha!

I just needed one more credit in order to be considered a full time student. I was gonna get one of my PE credits out of the way, but since all that was left was modern dance, I opted for Italian instead. I'll do PE in the spring. 9_9

 

Glad I did, too. =/ I have to take five classes this semester because one of my required classes, a portfolio development course, only counts for one credit- which threw me off this time around. Typically, courses are 3-4 credits and you need 12, so the school only expects you to take 3-4 classes and, as such, financial aid won't cover a fifth course entirely. The weird thing is, that despite PE courses only counting for one credit, they're way more expensive than this Italian course, which is a 3 credit course.

PE classes usually have equipment fees and such added on.

Which would be understandable if it were a course that used gym equipment. This was for modern dance, though, and they tell you that any dancing stuff you need (suitable clothes, shoes, ect) you need to get yourself. Beyond that, I might be missing something, but I can't think of what the school would be providing. There's no real equipment that figures into that.
