I'm glad it's a movie and not a full spin off series like it was originally rumored. It might be that it's not as bad as the idea would lend to believe, but I'mma just guess and say "it is."

 

I have nothing against humanized ponies, but making it a 'new girl in high school' thing is stupid.

 

Also, why make Spike a dog? I get he's a different species from the ponies, but he's not a pet... Plus him as an adorable little kid wouldn'tve been, well, adorable.

it's only a one off thing.. and it looks like it might be a typical... girly movie/ whatever... personally i'll still watch it... somehow i get a typical teenage girl movie like 17 again from it though...

Season 4 is set for November 23.

 

If anyone wants spoilers, they previewed some animatics from several episodes at a recent con, and you can probably find them floating around online.

I still have two episodes I need to watch from Season 3. Did that on purpose though because I knew there would be a long time between seasons and I deliberately didn't watch some episodes. Now I can still watch a "new" episode every month to get my dose of MLP in the meantime.

^That also works out nicely since the first two episodes of season 4 are supposed to be a direct continuation of the season 3 finale.

And also because the end of season 3 wasn't the greatest finale...though I kept rewatching it for the songs anyway.

So I've now seen the Equestria Girls movie. It was a lot better than I was expecting...for the most part.

 

I expected the aracial, candy-colored people to be weird, but that part really just made me think of Doug.

I like that the actor who does Twilight's singing voice gets to voice the antagonist.

All the cameos of pony characters as humans made me happy.

Daniel Ingram did good with the songs like he always does.

The final battle and its resolution are DUMB!

I'm torn on how to feel about the excessive references to the show. Stuff like "I wish I had some sort of Party Canon!" seems forced, but then they sneak in Scootaloo doing the Chicken and someone snatching Vinyl's glasses to show her eyes, and it makes me smile.

At first I was sad that I couldn't spot Derpy anywhere during the film, but she did get one little cameo that was impossible to miss~

After I finished watching the movie, I went through the special features and rewatched all the songs.

My cousin liked MLP since like... last year. My entire family though/thinks it's weird. I was suspicious of it, but couldn't care enough to have an opinion of his pony addiction. Now I live with him, and he has since made me watch it...

Last night I finished all three seasons and watch the movie too... all inside a week/week and a half. It's probably gotta be one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. I now own a Rainbow Dash (The most awesome, you all know it) lanyard/key fob and have put a poster for VinylScratch and Octavia on my door.

 

There are only two things I don't like about MLP. Babs Seed's voice (it sounds too fake to me), for one. Second, I too hated the ending of Equestria Girls. The whole demon-like creature-thing Sunset Shimmer turns into just looks stupid. Oh, and when they agree to become friends with her after she had just nearly killed them all? Yeah, that's what I would've done too (not). I would've left her in that hole.

 

Otherwise, yeah, I'm now a brony.

At the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con International in July 2013, the writers and voice actors talked about the upcoming season. It is expected to have between 15 and 20 songs, even though the writers had envisioned more, and will include a musical episode centered around Pinkie Pie. Rarity will have her own episode, and Pinkie will also see an episode where her family, including her sisters, visits Ponyville. The season will also include a return of Nightmare Moon, the evil version of Princess Luna. The writers will include references aimed at the adult audience, and will also include more appearances by the fan-named character Derpy Hooves.

I went to the comic shop over the weekend to play Pokemon TCG and as I was looking over a wall of dark, dramatic comic books something stood out. It was a MLP comic with Spike swimming in a pile of gems on the cover. It just POPPED compared to all the other dark covers. I am tempted to go back to buy it.

Ah, one of the Micro stories. Each comic focuses on a different character. I have a compilation of the stories for each of the Mane 6. Haven't read any of the others, but they're also doing them for Spike, Celestia, Luna, and the CMC.
