There's a map that has the entrance to the forest with the.weather vane, and has the bridge to the mountain. If you go to the very south, kasper used to say: I can't go to marshton.. (insert excuse here). Now I'm supposed to go to marshton with strayer in tow, and as soon as I go one map down... It freezes.

I'll try a new game file and see if I get it again.

Kspr, I played thru the game again and got stuck at the same point. It's essentially the start of chapter 2, once u leave villageburg.

It's a teleport event at the bottom of the map. Once I teleport, I'm stuck.

Here is what it looks like if I step on the teleport event prior to chapter 2:



I get that dialogue, or some other excuse. After Chapter 2, I take the teleport and it teleports me to this:



I never see my characters. The music plays. I can access the menu, but I can't do anything. Let me know if you need any other info.

alright i got it figured out! it seems i shifted the map to the right by a few tiles, and the teleport event takes you into the auto tile tree. i moved it, and will upload a new demo tonight with that fixed, and some other stuff.

alrighty, new demo time! Since the last one was broken, I fixed that problem, plus dozens others that i said i fixed earlier. I also took away the ability to save anywhere, and instead have to use save crystals found in towns and dungeons.

New and improved with misplaced forest guide packed in!

Nice! Save crystals should make the Mystic Forest nice and challenging. I've downloaded it and can't wait to play it, kspr.

kspr I have bad news... maybe.

I started playing the new demo. I clicked new game, and it started me out in the Misplaced Forest. Did I do something wrong? Or did you accidentally move the starting position of the game?

ive come to the conclusion that my game IS cursed..... somehow some teleport events made the forest impossible (even though i never touched them on that particular map), which is great if i wanted people to trick people into thinking there was more game when there wasn't. if this demo is somehow broken, i'll just post an unencrypted one.


HEY GUESS WHAT, IT WAS! so as a monkeypro exclusive, i'm just going to put the unencrypted demo up, that way everyone can laugh at how this is all held together with shoe strings and dental floss. brb.

I find it admirable that not only have you released something, but you're doing a great job maintaining and releasing new versions regularly.

I rarely play PC games, but I have been meaning to give this a go and share my thoughts.

what planet do you live on? i only keep releasing things because after they're released i find out they're broken because i'm the worst tester alive.

Crocus Edition: This one's locked up tight.

i wanted to include my rtp redraw project's progress in the .zips, but theyre so big that illustrator gives me an error message about there not being enough memory to perform the action. the tileset so far is ~40mb. i think i might have to figure out how to kerjigger a patch to download separately that will give the game it's ultimate flavour. i don't dislike the rtp, per se, but it feels very generic to me.

i'm starting to break illustrator. i'm going to have to start pasting the new tileset piece by piece into photoshop because now whenever i try to move any group of tiles more complicated than a layer or two, the program freezes up and sometimes crashes. case in point- this kitchen. it took me two hours to get it to look right, and has 9 layers to it. this is all i'm going to be working on for the next few months. i really want the game to start looking shiny.
