To be honest, you're better off just not seeing the movie. Haha

I'm giving the Asterix comics a try. The translation is a bit lazy at times, but it's fairly entertaining so far.

We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

Kelly McCullough's Broken Blade.

It's the start of a new series by my favorite fantasy author. The book stars Aran, a once-great rogue/warrior of an exiled clan who's now more or less a drunkard. He and his familiar (his own shadow that can mold into a dragon!) learn that someone else from his clan is still alive, and out against him. The backstory and characters are all really well-developed, and the action is very tense. Definitely would recommend based on what I've read so far.

So I "read" (listened) to Norwegian Wood for the first time in a long time.

God. That book makes me feel feels. It really bummed me out and it has me feeling all weird. I don't even know.

I had the same reaction to that book. I never finished it for some reason.

Currently I am reading blogs. Lots of blogs.

Oh and I'm reading The Revolution of Everyday Life by Raoul Vaneigem again.

Never finished it for a bad reason or because it is overwhelming?

I'm curious as to how far you got.

My mistake, I was thinking of the Wind-Up Bird Chronicles by the same author. I think I only got about halfway in before getting distracted by a different book. Not sure why I never returned to it.

I was like 17 when I read it I think. It lingered a lot on Japanese history that I was unfamiliar with, which lost me a little. Other than that it was actually very enjoyable, just left me feeling a bit weird.

I've just started reading Porno by Irvine Welsh. It's very readable, if a little Scottish.

I have started "reading" The Hobbit. Quotations because I bought an audio book to listen to while I work at the university archives. Sadly, Part 1 is only 6 hours long and I usually work 4-6 a day. I will be finished quickly. But worth it for such a classic.

I forgot to post about it at the time, but after that random snow storm we had a while back, I got through four more books of the Dresden Files (White Night, Small Favor, Turn Coat, and Changes) by the end of spring break, which brought me to the end of my collection so far. I think we've got some employee appreciation days coming up at Barnes & Noble around May, so I plan to get the next couple books then. (There's a short story compilation and two more novels at present, though the latest one isn't available in paperback yet, so I'll wait on that one for now.)

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.
