Currently reading The Journyer by Gary Jennings, recommended by my boss. So far it is quite interesting, though filled with a lot of oddly descriptive sexuality.

As a side note, books like this are a great argument for the amazon kindle (and probably other well made e-book readers). The built in dictionaries make it really easy to look up a word, or as I have done several times in this book, look up information about a city or region I don't know a lot about. I know it's possible to be engaged in a book without a kindle, but the kindle makes it super duper easy, and lowers the possibility of distraction (for instance, if I were sitting at my computer for quick access to wikipedia, I might just be tempted to check facebook every time I clicky clicky). I don't know that I've ever been more engaged in reading.

Just finished reading Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Conviction. Good book, though at one point towards the end I was tempted to put the book down and stop reading entirely, just in case something I didn't want to see happen happened. XD

Going to start on another Star Wars book because I'm on that kick again.

I've been having trouble actually reading books lately (aside from the Dresden books). I currently have bookmarks in The Silmarillion; The Fellowship of the Ring; Life, the Universe, and Everything; Myth-chief; The Lightning Thief; Dune: House Atreides; The Bourne Supremacy; and Lord of Souls. Why can't I finish books??? D:

EDIT: I'm gonna blame My Little Pony.

Gotten a few volumes into Flame of Recca. It's a bit ridiculous and in dire need of a retranslation, but I am enjoying it so far.

/>I'm giving The Hunger Games a try. A couple of girls I work with recommended it quite enthusiastically, so I got it cheapish at Borders. Just finished chapter 1, so I'm still forming my opinion on it, but it's off to a decent start.

I just finished this book today. In some places the writing made me cringe (I assume because it is a young adult novel narrated by a fictional 16 year old. I will just pretend that it was intentionally bad.), but overall I found it engaging. I will probably move on to the next book in a few months. Also, this may be the first time I can say that I've read the book before watching the movie, since I think I would like to see the movie when it comes out in March.

I did enjoy it though. The second book was pretty good too, but the love triangle business is a little tiresome. I haven't read the last book yet, but I have ordered a copy to read eventually.

On Stranger Tides by Tim Powers.

Yea, that movie is loosely based on this book. Loosely.

I imagine it would be quite different without Jack Sparrow sillying up the place.

Is it pretty good from what you've read of it?

I don't know just yet. I had a week of vacation, but have since been crazy busy with work. I'll get in to the book in the coming week.

I've started on the fourth Dresden novel, Summer Knight. I'm only a short way in, and he's already made two Loony Toons references. xp

EDIT: Add to that one Star Wars reference.
EDIT 2: Two Star Wars references.

Finished up Death Masks. The next book is Blood Rites, but I might not start on that one right away, if only to give myself some time to get some drawing done.

Finished Blood Rites Sunday night. xp
I'm out of Dresden books for now, so I'll have to decide on what else I want to read next. Possible Yahtzee's book. Or I may resume Life, the Universe, and Everything.

The High King Of Montival. it's the last book of The Emberverse saga by SM Stirling. it's like a contemporary lord of the rings, but in certain places is less lotr and more harry potter. it's taken about 4 years for me to get through all 7 books, and the final one came out last year.

edit: after looking it up, the series is being expanded to 10 books. ^______^
