I'm in Portugal for the next few days to drink port and eat food.

Here is the view from my balcony:

This place actually makes me think of a Mediterranean version of Dishonored's Dunwall.

Does anybody have any Portugal or port related questions? Any recommendations of what to check out while I'm here. (Sadly, I'm not going to have time to check out Lisbon).

You can't write about Burning Man, because, like, the journey is the destination, man.

My questions? I don't know much about Portugal, actually. Maybe you should post a link to your article (If it ends up online) when it's done.

You know, I haven't seen any. There's some other Portuguese navigator they have monuments to including a massive on in the centre of Porto with the guy pointing to the ocean. Except he's pointing southwards because he believed the future lay in Africa and not the Americas. I suspect he may have been a fool.

None that I've found, sorry. Lots of sea food and cheese is the main thing. Bread with olive oil and olives. It's all kinda Mediterranean.

Lots of old churches. They all look pretty different because they're covered in porcelain tiles as is the Portuguese style. I think all the sermons are in Portuguese though.

Krabkhalash?

I had to Google this. I'm pretty sure it was part of the meal I had on my second night here. Though it wasn't introduced by its name, they just ran through its ingredients. It was okay. They served it with guacamole.

Well, America is a lot further than the European countries I visit so flights are more expensive. Also, the American tourism board have a problem with giving journalists freebies for just about anything. American newspapers won't actually cover any travel stories if any of the expenses were covered for the journalist because they see it as being like bribery. You can't give an honest perspective on a trip because your perspective is warped by the freebies you got. Different journalistic ethics I guess. Also, America doesn't really need to promote tourism because 'MURICA!

You can't write about Burning Man, because, like, the journey is the destination, man.

You can totally write about the journey though. My sister regularly works as the editor of the Burning Man newspaper they set up during the festival. I'll try and find out if any of it gets reproduced online and link you guys to that.

Here is a picture of me drinking port:
