I have nothing of value to add, other than that st. Kitts always makes me think of Sid Meier's Pirates!

whats the crime rate like there compared to the other islands?

Good questions. I've been shocked by the lack of development in the poorer neighbourhoods and apparently violent crime here is very high. The only prison on the island is perpetually overcrowded.

St. Kitts has the highest murder rate in the Caribbean and a heap of violent crime too. Muggings and theft are relatively high for the region. I've been told that most crime is due to drug related gangs, but I don't know how I could verify this. Wealth inequality seems quite high, there's quite a lot of poverty and some very rich white folk.

 

In all my travels I've never felt like such a honky.

how much indiginous culture is there? im imagining voodoo guys, but i know im way off

I've seen a fair few Rastafarians. No voodoo though sadly.

 

No monkey butlers either. A few people I've seen have had monkeys as pets and they roam free through the jungle.

 

No hurricanes either, hasn't been one since 1999. Had some tropical rainstorms today, which were nice and refreshing.

Hah, I'm supposed to be going into the rainforest this morning but I've asked if I could skip it because I've seen rainforests before and I have a lot of work to catch up on.
