I'll be in Kuala Lumpur for a week. A vacation this time and not work so YAY!

 

I'm not really sure what I plan on doing here yet, I've just flown through the airport a lot of times the past and figured I'd actually spend some time in the city for once.

 

It's nice. It always reminded me of Corneria in Star Fox as I flew above it. Nice, pretty white skyscrapers surrounded by lush jungle. I'm staying in Chinatown in the heart of the city though and from the ground level it feels more like Shanghai in Deus Ex: Human Revolution - a bit dirty and dingy, rats and cockroaches on the pavement.

 

I think I remember seeing a video of some caves that were a Hindu or Buddhist shrine, and they're the thing I want to see most. Other than that I have no idea what I'm doing here. I might try and ride the monorail today.

 

Any requests for pictures or suggestions for what I should do?

Fucking nothing. I was talking to a local chick the other day about a recent collapse on the monorail which she attributed to Godzilla. Turns out Godzilla is serious business here so I wouldn't be surprised if he ate the missing plane too.

 

Today I went to an art gallery and met some Malaysian artists. There were some pretty bitchin' abstract pieces by a dude called Ng Foo Cheong that I dug:

I got to eat lunch with him. He was batshit insane and very funny. Also got to meet a young guy called Donald Abraham who used to be a skater before people got into the art he painted on his deck:

Got invited back to his studio to chill. Turns out he's like Malaysia's hottest young artist or something. He mostly talked about how people in his neighbourhood keep getting their throats slashed, which was nice.
