Nintendo Wii U

Especially with the pro controller that will basicly be the proGamers choice for alot of multi platform games like Battlefield and alike.
But I think that with the Wii U remote alot of games can get some nice improvment.
Like the new alien game with the motion detector in the remote so you have to look away from your TV in order to see the motion detector, makes it a bit more realistic.

what do you think of the tablet controller? is it something that's even worth copying? nintendo tries to be too different with their hardware, but not different enough with their first party titles from gen to gen. zelda hd won't be much different than the last games, mario is pretty much mario with different hats, etc...
there isn't anything in their house ip collection that is different enough from something i can get on another platform to make me want to switch. at this stage of my life, i'm not buying a new console just to play two or three games. i need to know that quality and depth are going to be consistent throughout, and that's not something i can say about nintendo games anymore.

However I kinda like the tablet controller, it fits better in your hand then you would imagen at first.
Though they still need alot of developers building games that utalizes their controller.
Though so far things look bright. We have a few titles beeing build exclusivly for the Wii U.
Examples of these is the new Alien game aswell as the successor to the well selling game Bayonetta, with bayonetta 2 beeing exclusive for nintendo Wii U, though these news are a few weeks old, things might have changed to date.

/>live from walmart, nobody seems to want a wii u. their stock is full on consiles and games. there's ONE 360, and no ps3's. im pretty close to being in the hood though, so that might have something to do with it.
Also, potentially, because it's not expected for the 360/PS3 to sell too well anymore, and businesses aren't going to keep a lot of stock of things they don't expect to sell.
The Wii U is new and isn't selling as well as expected, so it makes sense for places to have a lot of stock of it.

Why doesn't Nintendo just start making fun games again? Heck I'd even settle for another Pikmin!

Or, to put it more politely, "Neener neener."

I'll probably be more inclined to buy a Wii U once there's a new Zelda game or something, but lately haven't been playing any games at all. I've built up a sizable backlog, so I'm not in any hurry to buy a whole new system right now.

Yeah, I picked one up about a month ago with taxes. Loved ZombiU and loving MH3U. I love the tablet controller, and I'm super excited for Pikmin 3.
To note MH3U has some funky textures because it's a port of a 3DS game that came out in Japan a while back. It's unfortunate, because if they polished those up, it would look superb.

You know I still haven't even played Twilight Princess? I just have no faith in these games anymore. I guess that's not fair, though. I intially resisted Wind Waker only for it to be one of my favorites now... But I just don't want to spend $50 on a game I'll probably only barely enjoy.ll probably be more inclined to buy a Wii U once there's a new Zelda game or something

Well A) Pretty sure Twilight Princess isn't $50 anymore
and B) Twilight Princess is pretty good. (At least the Gamecube version)
It's not, the best, and I would consider it pretty low on the totem pole of Zelda games, but it certainly had its hooks in me for a long time. It plays like a refined Ocarina of Time. The only draw back to the game, if I remember correctly, is it takes FOOOOREVER to get started. ugh
I've yet to play Skyward Sword though, maybe one day.

I'm with you, Lazlo. I used to be Zelda Mega Fan, but I can't get interested in the games anymore. I enjoyed Twilight Princess during my play through, but I lost interest shortly after. It's the first Zelda game I didn't play through more than once... And I have had barely any interest in Skyward Sword. It doesn't help that I no longer have a Wii, but still.

Bumping because A) I really enjoy me Wii U and B) Hyrule Warriors.
Somehow the Nintendo Direct (which I just love) kind of made me less excited for Hyrule Warriors. Mainly because it didn't announce anything. It announced it had Ganondorf, how surprising?
Also a bummer that it seems like only characters from OOT/TP/SS are going to be in the game. No WW/LTTP love I guess. I was hoping for some Hilda/Ravio love at the very least (which if you Zelda naysayers haven't played Link Between Worlds, you should).

I can understand not using those game characters. As much as I love Wind Waker, you'd have to destroy their style to make them fit in with the rest of the Hyrule Warriors. TP and SS share similar enough styles and OOT is easily updated since a lot of it's "style" is outdated graphics.
Speaking of Wind Waker just got around to beating it and I told myself I wouldn't buy anymore WiiU games until I beat it. Now I just need to figure out which one to get...

I think they could easily update the characters to match. Warriors Orochi 3 is full of characters that probably shouldn't be there/match (although I guess it's a lot easier to adapt than cell-shaded characters), same with Dynasty Warriors Gundam (which I believe had SD Gundams).
Plus Warriors games are supposed to be jam-packed with things (WO3U has like 130+ characters in it). It's not that crazy to do. I hope there's more characters though, only ten more days until it comes out in Japan so there won't be much of a wait to see.

Mario Kart 8 DLC!

Which sounds pretty awesome, but I'm a bit surprised that they're crossing over series'.

I agree that some of the stuff looks neat, but it feels weird to think about DLC in a Nintendo game.

I don't mind though. Since Nintendo seems to understand the point of DLC. To still release a full game but to add on to it after the fact. The Mario Kart DLC adds a considerable amount of stuff at a good price.
