/>Um, I have no money until I get paid at the start of next week. Could I submit money for next week or donate money retrospectively? Or something?

I tried to, but it didn't let me. Probably because:

/>I'm pretty sure I paid the remainder last night. We're set this month.

Weird that I can't like prepay though.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

make 1 map, duplicate it a gazillion times, put it in chest at starting area.

now everyone can see where nobody has been exploring before, and where others are (not good for my secret base building habit)

If any of you are interested, I was running a server for a while. It had an economy system, shops, npcs, skill learning, maps, and other goodies.

I could definitely get it going again. Or we could start fresh. :o)

Also I periodically give away minecraft accounts on my game's facebook page. Sorry for the shameless self-promotion, but if you need an account let me know.

I would really enjoy something fresh to start with.

Plus I've kinda been slacking on playing the last week or so.

I haven't played since 1.3.

Basically, though, with the economy system you could create your own "shops". I even had NPC-controlled shops that sold some of the rarer items at very high prices and some junkyard shops used only to sell your items for money.

The skill system was neat also--you could level excavation, mining, acrobatics, etc. and learn new skills. Nothing was too game-breaking, but it was all really fun.

I like the little bit of structure. I play well in sandbox games, but Minecraft leaves you to your own making. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but after awhile I begin to realize that my creativity is limited...

Check out some of the addons we could have with bukkit.

http://plugins.bukkit.org

If any are interesting to you and some people want to go forward with this I wouldn't mind starting up a server again.

We're currently paying for the current server we use. It all kinda depends.

I would like to keep it, just in case I would like to do extra stuffs. I'll wait for others to post before being too excited about it.

Ah I haven't read the other 28 pages so I wasn't sure what the playing situation is here.

I'm trying to find an excuse to stop playing WoW. :T_T:

Yeah, I've kind of been hesitant about updating the server because the next patch looks to be around the corner anyways. I might wait until then.

I'm not a fan of the money mods. I spend enough time in real life worrying about my bank balance to have to worry about it in Minecraft too.

no, no! I was referring to mods that add currency to minecraft. You don't have to pay for them.

@DHM - We have a game server where we rent 5 minecraft player slots. If you like to play you can connect to 96.44.142.244:25569 (we also have the option to enable mumble speak, but we find it not necessary)

As for the economy mod: There is an update available for minecraft. we can always make a full backup of our server files and then set it up with the extra mods that DHM mentioned, then see how it works for a while. If things/people aren't too happy about it, or only certain aspects, we can revert back to our backup or scrap the mods that are not to our general liking.

but ill leave this up to other people to decide, since i'm happy playing minecraft in any form.

I see the economy mod as something to justify the grind of minecraft for people who want to spend more time exploring than they do building.

Yeah it's easier to get them going on a fresh world, but I know after a while there is a sense of attachment to your creations. For now maybe I can hop on your server and say hello?

I'm not particularly interested in the mods but you guys can go ahead.

I might spend some time experimenting with minecarts in singleplayer mode.
