We have a fenced in yard, but only because we and the neighbors all worked together to put it up.
- Work called at 9:24 asking if I could start my shift at 11
+/- That's a new record!
- 2 and a half hour commute. Aka not happening.
+ So they offered first-hour lunch, shift start at 1
- I didn't feel right turning them down after all that effort
+ So I said yes
+/- And I secretly wanted to go to work today anyway
- Though by now I feel guilty about that
++/- Missing my cousin's 1st birthday party (at a restaurant)
- Missing hanging out with Grandma ):
I just hope they keep the shift ending at 7... I'm all for giving me the required 8-hour day (seriously. It marks me as an "unexplained absence" if it's any less), but I'm pretty much doing you guys a favor at this point... Cut me some slack. ): Guess we'll see when I get there.
Update: + Only scheduled till 7
- Only getting paid till 7
XD Guess it was too much to hope that they'd "appreciate what I was doing" and pay me for the 8th hour anyway. Oh wellllll.

- Ordinary oil paints aren't allowed in my painting class because they're too difficult to clean without using solvent, which is apparently bad for the school's drainage system (I guess it makes sense, I never knew that myself and never had any issue with plumbing as a result, but that's one person occasionally, rather than tons everyday).
----- Just had to pay way too much money to have water miscible oil paints shipped to my house in time for my painting class because there is not a single actual art store within reasonable distance, only shitty craft stores that only carry the most basic of art supplies and over charge you for them. >:(
------- Cannot stop being paranoid that someplace just might have carried them anyway and I just didn't look well enough and wasted all of that money.

--I only got to sing 6 songs between 9pm-2am
+I kick ass at "No Rest for the Wicked"
----- There was virtually no crowd to bounce my energy off of, so I was feeling pretty Lathargic
+++I felt better after singing "Tears in heaven"
++ Much better, it seemed to open up the night.

++++++++++++++++ I GOT A NEW JOB!
It's a commute (it's in Fresno, I live near Merced, for anyone who knows stuff about California). But it's also a bit more money than Starbucks and it's programming. I'm excited.
Congrats! What specifically will you be required to do?
I work here now (or will be):
http://www.decipherinc.com/n/
They specialize in making web surveys and getting market data for companies. My job would basically just to do the overflow work of the more senior programmers. They specialize in Python, which I'll need to learn, but it doesn't sound too hard. And either way, first three weeks is training so it won't be bad.
That one.

---------- 9 hour work day + 2 hour commute both ways = very little time to do anything and no sleep. It's basically half my time devoted to work (driving, working, getting ready). And yeah. blargh.
++ Getting to listen to a lot of This American Life

----------------------------------- Bee's car died. I really don't have a way to get there now.
--- Luckily (?) it broke down right next to her house and not on my commute.
----------- I already have to take a day off because of this.
- Sigh
