/>++++++++++++++++ I GOT A NEW JOB!

It's a commute (it's in Fresno, I live near Merced, for anyone who knows stuff about California). But it's also a bit more money than Starbucks and it's programming. I'm excited.

Congrats! What specifically will you be required to do?

Old flash signature has been revived for nostalgic purposes. Too bad RpgWizard hasn't been revived. :\

I work here now (or will be):
http://www.decipherinc.com/n/

They specialize in making web surveys and getting market data for companies. My job would basically just to do the overflow work of the more senior programmers. They specialize in Python, which I'll need to learn, but it doesn't sound too hard. And either way, first three weeks is training so it won't be bad.

'Grats on the new job! And good luck with the training. I hope the book proves helpful.

Oh that's awesome Monkey! I'd love to get a no-experience required programming job, but there are so few around. Cherish it, friend!

I don't think it was completely no experience. I do have a bit of more professional web work under my belt and part of my experience with Starbucks helped. Which I assume got me the job.

But thank you guys! :)

+ Got super pumped about working on a new website for my fraternity
+ Got a friend on board and pumped about working on a new website for my fraternity
- Friend and I disagreed on templates
+/- So we both ended up working on our own, while comparing what works and what doesn't and using them accordingly.
+ Yay teamwork
- Work computers don't really like the website builder
- I've been called into work every day for the past few days, a few hours before the shift starts
- And I've been getting home after 1 a.m.
- So I haven't been able to do much from home

+ Friend figured out awesome things to do with their template
- We tried them on mine but they didn't work
+ Friend just succeeded in the one thing we wanted to get done on the site, and there's probably no way it's going to happen on mine

- Basically got bulldozed over by friend's enthusiasm for the project...
- Extreme loss of desire to continue my attempt, considering everyone's going to like friend's template better anyway, and we can't have both.

- Whatever....

What works on theirs that keeps it from working on yours? Maybe you could get it working pretty quickly if you post in the Programming forum. We have quite a few web developers here you know!

Well I've never lived anywhere without a fence. Even apartments (unless they were on a second story).

Also I totally read Lazlo's post in Officer Jenny's voice

It's a drag-and-drop sort of website, not a code-your-own, so I don't know how much the Programming forum would help.... and neither of us are sure why the things don't want to work on mine. For some reason, though we're logged into the same account and are working on the same website (different pages), she has an entirely different menu bar than I do, and, well, her stuff works and my stuff doesn't. (We think it's because we chose different templates.)

What is the website though?

Most places that are drag and drop you can still code onto.

Not always. I knew a guy who swore up and down by RVSitebuilder, which is probably the worst prefab designer around. It even escapes HTML so you can't make your own stuff.

It's called wix.com

I know you can fiddle with the html because that's what my friend did to get something big on to the site. She couldn't/wouldn't explain how she did it. XD

It's alright. If I decide to start working on it again, I might poke at you guys for assistance, but I might still just leave it to her. It's just a matter of whether my competitive spirit kicks back in or not...

Sorry for my West Coast ignorance but is that not common around there?

Just to add to this, there are quite a few fenced in yards in older neighborhoods around where I live, but in the newer developments (As in, 30 years and younger, but I'm just guessing), almost none of the yards have a fence of any kind. I always just assume that it's because several of the people buy more house than they can afford, so they can't afford fences.

On that note, I should start saving to put a privacy fence around our yard. That would be wonderful.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.
