++ sports day in military fitness today, which meant playing basketball. We'd normally play a variation of the game with a football.... but the gym lost ALL the footballs somehow.
- was tired and careless, so I stepped wrong with my knee locked and injured that tendon that connects your patella to your lower leg (i used to know its name)
- and it was on my leg with the injure ankle... and the way I could stand on my ankle without it hurting, my knee hurt, and vice versa.
- the result was basically a half pidgeon-toed hobble.
- I'd just gotten home after hobbling all the way to the shuttle stop, then to my parked car, driven the 20 minutes it takes to get home when I get a call to see if I could come into to work to cover a shift for a coworker in a couple of hours.
+ told them I couldn't cuz I had plans later... then passed out on my bed till... half an hour ago. Yeah... between really early classes and working long(ish) hours for two days straight so that I went to sleep at around 1 or 2... yeah. sleep felt good.

It was several weeks before my teacher made us learn much of any kanji. At first, all we had to know was 'watashi,' which wasn't too hard to remember since we used it so frequently. Admittedly, I no longer remember the kanji for 'watashi' since I always use 'boku' for myself. =p

I remember Watashi even now. I really don't remember boku because I'd gotten so used to watashi before they decided to tell us, like a LONG time later, that manly men use Boku and a long time after THAT they showed us how to write that kanji.
