Cell phones is for connecting to people and setting up meetings, dates, and all sort of stuff. Like my recent white water rafting.

Trust me, it helps to have a cell phone. Specially when sudden parties come up and you're invited, your or someone's car breaks down, you/someone forgot something somewhere and someone's picked it up for you... all sorts of stuff man, you don't even KNOW! If you don't communicate, you're just not in the know, foo.

Cell phones are useful, but you don't NEED one. And it's stupid to think you do.

When I was in High School I was always doing stuff, and I had neither a phone, texting, or car. Now I do, and you know what? No one I talk to aside from like Arutha evens uses their phone that much, we'd all prefer to just actually SOCIALIZE with people in real life. The little bit of texting is usually to go HEY LISTEN TO ME or about school, that's about it, and I'm not some kind of social outcast. My sister, who is in high school (and I believe the same age as Money, maybe older), has no phone, no texting, and no car. Yet she's never here, she's always doing something.

If you're excuse for not having a social life is I DON'T HAVE A CELL PHONE, a cell phone really isn't going to fix it.

Thou dost protest too much, methinks. But that's okay, I went without till my senior year for either cell or car. You don't NEED them, but they are indeed enablers. But I text far more often than I call. It's nice to go wherever and still be able to be receive calls or call on someone else. Lol, I just got done chatting with my best friend while I was at smith's and he was at kmart, making plans about meeting on PSN for fat princess or re5, as well as some girl issues from last night that we need to smooth out. And I wouldn't have even known they were up and having a party at his place if I hadn't texted 'em at 2am to see if they were awake (cuz I just woke up after crashing after the trip- went rafting on 3 hrs of sleep). Better to text 'em just in case, so you don't wake 'em up than to call and be wrong. xD

I got a car on accident at the start of the semester (aka, sophomore year of college). :/ Parents were getting rid of a company car because one of the guys quit and ended up deciding that it was more worth it for me to take it than to go through all the hassles that would be required to sell it. I found out a few months ago, so...yay, I can get myself to work now over the summer.

Cell phone, I got my freshman year of high school, only because Mom wanted me to be able to call her and let her know when I was staying after (since I often didn't know until school was practically out for the day). The only time I used it throughout high school was to call her, or when my friends borrowed it to call their folks. Didn't start texting at all until college, and that was just because everyone else would text me instead of call. It works, but I could (and have at various times) live without it.

+Finally finished the book I was reading!
+Started filming for a project yesterday!
++++++++ Project due date bumped up a week.
-Have to practice for a playing test on Wednesday and I can barely play the instrument.
-----Can only practice when no classes are going on in the room the instrument is in, and there are always classes in there when I'm free.

----------- It finally hit me, how much I have to get done for various things before this weekend and next. Hoping I get it all done without having to stay up obnoxious hours.

------------------ I don't have a fucking cell phone, and my parents don't want me to get one for a while.
:(

I didn't have one until I was 20. And then I had to buy it myself and pay for it with my own money.

Don't listen to these social outcasts. Trust me. Cell phones are a MUST. Specially with unlimited text messaging. Used to hate texting, but now I use it all the time. It's very useful. Especially during those boring classes and for those times when they can't answer a phone but can answer a text. Just don't lose yourself in the apps.

Texting is entirely unnecessary. It can be fun, I'll admit, and it has it's uses for pranks, but all in all, it's not something that life can't go on without. Also don't take boring classes/make them fun.

People are far too dependent on cell phones nowadays, it's depressing.

qft

I've actually been living without a cellphone for a couple months. At first it was annoying because I couldn't arrange rides or change plans on the quick, but it's actually been pretty liberating. I never go anywhere that doesn't have a phone, so I don't need it for "emergencies", and it's taught me to plan ahead, and actually follow through with those plans. I live my life with fewer interruptions, and I never have to make up excuses for why I don't want to talk to someone.

I'm not saying having a cell phone makes you a bad person, but I am saying that I'm a better person without mine.

^
Article 43 (of the Bro Code): A Bro loves his country, unless that country isn't America.
So don't knock it >:U

On the other note, not having a cell phone when EVERYONE ELSE MY AGE except for a few people who I don't rully like anyway has one is the suck. The real reasons that I want one, however are basically twofold. First of all, I love biking, but I'm crap at directions. If I had a phone, I could get lost wherever I want, whenever I want, and I can have someone at the other end tell me where to go. The second, more shady, reason is there are some people my parents don't... approve of (/ominous), and texting them would be ftw.
And, just so you know, them people aren't bad in any way. My parents are just very narrowminded about whom I hang out with/ talk to.
They don't really even want me to have Facebook...

Lol. But yeah, you're probably better off without the facebook. Unless you have a lot of far-flung friends, like those of us in college. Even then, you're not likely to stay in touch with most of the people you friend on facebook.

And yes, I WANT to go through bootcamp.

1. Already went through it once. It was easy.
2. It'll be great to be back in at least military shape (probably not the best shape I've been in my life, but still definitely up there)
3. It's actually fun, especially in hind-sight. Just wish I was going to one of the co-ed bct camps, and not back to males-only Ft. Benning, GA.

Lol. But yeah, you're probably better off without the facebook. Unless you have a lot of far-flung friends, like those of us in college. Even then, you're not likely to stay in touch with most of the people you friend on facebook.

Yep.

I have like 200 friends? And all the friends I do talk to on it are usually people I'd rather talk to not on it anyways. Facebook is just a convenient waste of time, I find. And a good way to stalk people.

So this is my Spring Break, in pluses and minuses:

---- Rode the train for 7 hours.
- My friend Cindy wasn't there to pick me up.
++ She did, and we went out to pie...
-------- ...with a guy she used to date.
++++ We stayed up all night talking and stuff in her bed.
-- Went to her class.
+ Went for Mongolian BBQ...
- With her ex again.
---- Then went to his house
++ / ----- Got drunk.
++++++++++++ / - Played Scrabble/Bad Company 2
-------- Slept there, with Cindy cuddling with him. Sigh~
+++ Went back to her place the next day, slept.
+++++++++++ Went to the Mission Inn and this cool junk garden place...and then...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moo.
+++++ The next day we went to the Japanese Supermarket in Costa Mesa. Ate Ramen, got candy/soda, watched Detective Conan in Japanese with no subtitles.
+++ Then went to the hipster mall thing, bought pants and The Postal Service's Give Up on vinyl <3
---------- But the whole day was awkward, and we didn't talk about it, and I was depressed.
+++++++++++++ Then got dropped off with my friend Madison, because I couldn't stand being around Cindy anymore.
+++ And we watched The Invention of Lying.
+++ And played Layton and Mario Party
+++ And stayed up all night talking and listening to music and playing with her musical instruments.
++++++ And then woke up and walked and had lunch
++++++++ And then watched Dr. Horrible and Spike Jonze's new short film I'm Here.
++++++++++ Then we went to an awesome Japanese Grill place.
+++++++++++++++ And then saw Date Night, which was surprisingly hilarious.
++++++ And then we stayed up all night again playing cards/Layton and talking.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Then we went to Knott's Berry Farm, we only got to ride five things, but we shopped and ate and it was a lot of fun.
----- But then I had to go back to Cindy. :/
++ But it was alright, me and her played guitar and sang all night.
+++ Then in the morning we went back to the junk garden, took pictures, went to an antique store (where I bought Rubber Soul!) had pizza...
--- / ++++ She then dropped me off and didn't even stay with me.
---- Then train ride.

But even though that big negative up there, I don't even care anymore. I stopped caring the second I saw Madison and she gave me a hug and called Cindy a whore. It was worth it just for the second half of my trip. bleh:

---------- Now to catch up in school :|

My empathy in regards to that Cindy person. >.>

+++ Finished RE5 campaign with my friend.
+++ other friend got MW2 for ps3 and was playing online with me.
- he's still new to it and needs an earpiece

+++ finally have my hands on my friend's DS, and thus I can play SS again!
++ made it to the E4, but haven't battled 'em yet.

+++++++ browsing the songs list for RB2 dlc... and I see eric cartman's version of Pokerface. xD
+++ Oh wow, they added poker face, bad romance, monster and just dance too.

+++++++++++ Not to mention Queen's stuff: Another One Bites the Dust and Killer Queen.
+++++ got me Prayer of the Refugee. =D
