+++ spent all of today doing the sidequests for Folklore, since the last time I had it, I rushed through the main campaign in order to finish it before i returned it to the rental place.

++ tried out the dungeon trial mode.
- sucks that you have to keep doing random dungeons or your own to slowly rack up points in order to unlock creatures to inhabit your dungeons, as well as unlock special Folk after certain point milestones.
- getting to those milestones will take FOREVER

It would be... if it was normal laser tag. While this type of laser tag allows for a lot more freedom of movement... the system itself is limited. You don't have the sensor jackets or anything. You have guns with sensor domes mounted on it's top, and you aim at those to score hits. And... that gets frustrating. >.> I was planning to go more to meet up with someone there than to play. =/

It's free, but I would totally pay if we all decided to meet at one of those places and play some 'real' laser tag every now and then.

In my 'jock days', I used to go airsoftin'. It's not quite as painful or messy, and matches (presuming that everyone has a gun) can be started spontaneously. Of course, I never had the pain tolerance for paintballing.

Lumberjack does some Airsoft. I've never had the chance to go with him, though. Never wanted to test my pain tolerance in a game of paintball either, so laser tag for me it is. =)

And yay for learning Japanese. It's not too bad once you know your hiragana, really. The grammar is weird but not that hard to get used to.

- Had to go in to work at 5:30, and I was dead tired after getting only a few hours of sleep.
-- Have to go to class in a few minutes.
--- Have to go back to work again this afternoon.
---- Have to go to a block class this evening, making for a rather long day.

Sure, at the beginning, learning hiragana let's the world keep spinning on its access.... but then... eventually... comes the Kanji, and that my friends, is a head of THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of characters. Dunno why they have to steal this headache from celf-centered middle kingdom, but they did... and all of japan has suffered on account of it for generations. Our literacy rates are lower... but at least we recognize wtf all our characters are, and it's only the thousands of words that mean the same thing or are technical terms.

the sad thing is that this really could have been an easy class, but my professor is a hardcore number theorist, and as a result, all of the classes he teaches are among hardest classes in any department at the college (i've heard this from many).
