beat Birth By Sleep for all 3 characters as well as the final episode. Then watched Blank Points, the 'secret' movie for beating it. And then found and collected all the stickers on Terra's file. and got up to lvl 19/20 in the arena.
...
do people in the army make fun of you for playing fruity weeaboo games like kingdom hearts?
playing GTA4. hoping to actually finish it this time instead of getting bored, crashing helicopters for three hours, and not playing again for three months.

That aside, I restarted The Conduit a few days ago and have been playing 1-2 levels per day. It's actually not as bad as I remembered. It's still not that great, but it's decent.
I also tried getting back into Spirit Tracks this afternoon, and I have no idea who the passenger on my train was because the game certainly wasn't going to remind me. <_<
Made it to what I presume is the last dungeon before the final level after making a series of bothersome deliveries. As I said when the game was still new, I like the aesthetic of the whole train thing, but it's worse than the boat in practice.

Which I have NEVER beaten! GAH! And I refuse to use a walkthrough, which is part of the problem.

Cools. I've been wanting to try that out, but I can't bring myself to buy it with so many unfinished games on my list. =/I just got Dragon Age, so I think I'ma have a bit of fun with that.
SNES or GBA version? Because the Ice Palace, at least, is much easier in the remake. (I used to have to skip to the next dungeon and use the item from there to solve some of the puzzles. >_< )Zelda: A Link to the Past

How far have you gotten?

It's just that I always had trouble with the block puzzles near the end of the dungeon, and when I played it a year or so ago on the GBA, I was at the end of the level before I'd even realized that I had passed that part.
That's really the only change I noticed.

as someone who's played through it a few times, i can honestly say that it was one of the driest, by-the-book rpg's i have ever played. it is sooooo incredibly standard "ancient evil returns and only you can stop it" in plain english, it was painful to play. absolutely nothing surprised me about the story, or any of the characters for that matter. they're all so incredibly archtypical, and of course your protagonist is silent. when i got it, i thought it would be a cool, NEW experience, but it was anything but. you can't re-fight enemies, so if your characters die during battles, your're up shit creek. if you pick useless skills like the ability to make/disarm traps, over any of the others, then you're up shit creek. if you raise your character as an archer and you get to the last battle and are all like "what do?" it's fun trying to figure out what gifts to give what characters, but that's ALL the depth they have, and the ONLY thing making you care about them. if this game had couch co-op, then i think it would have been worth it, but it doesn't. if i had known it would have been so lackluster, and that bioware would have milked the "fake" dlc, then i would have just gotten demon's souls instead. the whole time i was playing it, i was wishing it was Oblivion.

Also, to fix those skill problems, some lovely person created a character respec mod, which I have already used, and I'm not even that far in to the game. (All games should have this option, frankly. But oh well).
I also like that you seem to have disliked it so much, yet you started out by saying, "someone who's played through it a few times." You must have liked something about it. I feel the same way about Oblivion, frankly. I rather hate that game these days, yet I've still invested hundreds of hours in to it, and occasionally want to play it some more. It's like crack.
I am enjoying DA well enough. No, it's not particularly original. However, my experience with the average fantasy setting doesn't extend far beyond the Lord of the Rings books, so I don't feel worn out about it. As Yahtzee so brilliantly put it, "We're a civilization so steeped in escapism that we find mundanity in something that doesn't exist, and never will."
The trick is to stop playing video games and expecting a good or original story. It just doesn't happen.

You sure about this part? The game isn't loaded with BioWare dialogue trees?and of course your protagonist is silent.

your character can't "talk" per se, but you can choose dialogue to advance the conversation.
also, i think we might get good, original stories, but people would have stop buying Madden every year...
